QUOTE (Lemon_44 @ May 10, 2016 -> 06:36 PM) I'd see what it takes, probably not much, to get Ervin Santana from Minny. Tyler Danish and another mid-level prospect would probably get it done. His contract isn't prohibitive and fits in the Sox window. Rather go after Teheran. More upside and fits the Sox long term plans too.

Great team win. Offense picks up the bullpen tonight. I would love for GreenSox to just say something about Frazier once, just once.

Huge f***ing win

I think Stubbs would of been safe anyway.Took a bad hop on Rollins at the end.

They get one, but we're still in it. Gonna tax the pen though

QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ May 9, 2016 -> 10:05 PM) Oh give me a break the closer had a lead TWICE and blew it both times. This is true. Offense got the leads. Bullpen blew it.

QUOTE (SoCalSox @ May 9, 2016 -> 10:02 PM) Robertson blows it again. 4-4 w/ 1 out & Odor up. Sands once again killing them out there. Melky at least attempts that throw. Lol, what? No way.

Looks like Sands is still in there, I would of even taken out the DH and put Avi out there in LF.

Holy ump show Laz Diaz. Wow. Just tossed Melky

Any good rumors for tonight's raw?

QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ May 9, 2016 -> 11:52 AM) The Sox have a hole at #3 starter, not at #5. This is a common misconception brought on by those who count "1 Sale...2 Quintana...3 Rodon...4 Latos....5....OH MY G-", and that is a trick of the mind. Rodon is more like 4th (perhaps a 5th if he doesn't get his s*** together) at this early point in his career. Can Rodon develop into a 3? YES, Rodon can feasibly develop into a 1, but he's nowhere near either of those levels right now. Latos, OTOH is pitching almost like a 1 (really more like a 2), but nobody expects that to last and that he'll settle down into something more resembling at very good 4th or 5th starter. Sale and Q are both aces and the envy of the entire league. And, truth be told, most teams (even playoff contenders) would be over-the-moon to have Latos and Rodon as their 4/5. But the Sox aren't most teams. Scoring is a bit of an issue for this offense. The Sox can bring a run home if they need one, but they are not going to go toe-to-toe with any AL contender in a slugfest and win. The Sox are not the Toronto Blue Jays. That's fine, they are made to overcome offensive shortcomings with outstanding pitching and defense and they'll continue to win at this clip as long both the pitching and defense are outstanding. The defense looks for real and I doubt it regresses much. The pitching though, eh there's some worry of those performances falling back a bit. The Sox have gotten away with not having a #3 because a #4/5 starter has pitched like a #3... when that magic runs out there will be noticeable dropoff. Dont ask me how to fix it but unless the Sox resign themselves to the idea that Tim Anderson and (probably) Carson Fulmer will be out that door I can tell you it probably wont be fixed. You mention Toronto with an elite offense, but their pitching is really piss poor. The only AL club that has a great offense and at least average pitching is Texas.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 9, 2016 -> 11:38 AM) Ouch Engel gonna be a trade chip.

In the end, I think the Sox acquire another starter.

Nick Basto called up to AA. Adam Engel demoted to A+

Hopefully we can get to Lewis this time. Dude has been average his whole career, but completely dominates the Sox.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 6, 2016 -> 06:22 AM) Sounds like some roster spring cleaning today. My guess is Adam Rose is gone. Ryback maybe too, but they'll probably just let his contract expire. Where are you hearing this?

What an awful call.

I thought he was out. No way you win that challenge because Boegarts' leg is in the way of Jackson's foot

Manfred thinks Montreal and Mexico City would be good to put baseball teams. Interesting about Mexico City....

QUOTE (fathom @ May 5, 2016 -> 02:16 PM) Can't link it but Keith Law in his chat today said he thinks Sox might be on Collins Could we get Collins below slot and use our sandwich pick on a high ceiling HS player?

QUOTE (GreenSox @ May 4, 2016 -> 06:20 PM) Look at the Mariners. Prior GM adds Cano and Cruz and do nothing. New GM works around the edges, fixes the defense and pen, and they're good again. San Diego last year acquired all sorts of downside veterans, cleaning out the farm in the process. Board favs like Kimbrall, Kemp...can't go wrong. Well, they stunk. Boston added Panda and Ramirez and they blew. Sat one, put the other at first, and used young players, and they contend again. They added Price, and he's stunk. The Sox this year...the big differences are Lawrie and Jackson - fixing the defense and adding some incremental offensive improvement. And yet the lust to trade everything for the "star" goes on unabated. Trade everything? We gave up a relief pitcher, a second baseman who can't play defense and a guy who had one hot month in the majors. Thompson probably wasn't on your radar until he got called up. Kid had a career minor league average of 240.....come on man.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 4, 2016 -> 05:10 PM) Reports that if Lakers get top pick they have decided they will trade it for a more proven player. Jimmy Butler for Ben Simmons. Deal.

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 4, 2016 -> 03:58 PM) Who are you referring to with this? Because it doesn't describe Dunn, LaRoche, Melky, Frazier, or Lawrie. Texeira.

Nelson Cruz just hit a MONSTER BOMB in Oakland. Dead center, up into the seats.

13-2 Nats. Harper with another bomb.
