  1. Love it! I'm a High Fidelity nerd, but just grabbed some spoonful on vinyl. Adding songs to wins could become a thing, helluva lot more fun than bemoaning losses.
  2. Anger. This team was good, and played like a real cohesive unit for a solid chunk of time. Since they have utterly collapsed, no relief apart from 1 game here and there. They need to be sellers and I can't believe I'm saying that.
  3. So unenthused. Entire lineup is batting under 250!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Awesome. I used to love that video. Without cheating, someone name that band!
  5. Can't wait. Got new shirts for the kiddos and get to see it the local spot for dinner!!
  6. I empathize a bit. Didnt make the high school team in IL and am still talking to a therapist about it.
  7. Lawrie's excessive eye-black: cool or not cool?
  8. 3 run opposite homer for Rollins. 3 for 4 on the day. Tied up!
  9. Ugly. Too much dirty laundry, what a distraction.
  10. Looking forward to kid-centric PR and Marketing campaigns.
  11. Thanks for that, very interesting and makes him someone to root for.
  12. LaRoche won a gold glove! My memory is dimmer and dimmer on last year, but did he play much 1st at all?? If he shaves that ZZ top beard, gets back on the field, Abreu focuses on hitting/staying healthy, could we improve both??
  13. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Mar 1, 2016 -> 07:21 AM) ZiPS came out yesterday, and August f**erstrom used it to point out how incredibly bad our OF defense looks, which reminded me that we didn't address it at all. Overall, we project to be 29th out of 30. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/previewing-...-team-defenses/ LF - Melky; BAD CF - Eaton; Below average RF - Garcia; EXTRA BAD 1B - Abreu; BAD 2B - Lawrie; BAD SS - Saladino; Good! 3B - Frazier; Good! C - Avila/Navarro; Solid and improved. With Austin Jackson somehow still out there, and this team hurt so much by lacking what he does best, I just... I just can't believe this is what the lineup looks like. I want to believe that they're going to get this done. I mean, it's not like giving Jackson a two or three year deal is going to block ANYTHING coming up in the system, and what a difference it could make! The defense could instead look like (by the way, those assessments are my own; the projections actually make it look worse): LF - Melky; BAD CF - Jackson; Good! RF - Eaton; Probably average or above 1B - Abreu; BAD 2B - Lawrie; BAD SS - Saladino; Good! 3B - Frazier; Good! C - Avila/Navarro; Solid and improved. Crazy how much better that looks. Defense would still be the weakness of the team, but that group above is merely "below average." That feels like a state that may not sink the team. I really apologize for being a downer lately. You guys know it's not usually how I am. But I just don't GET this. The only explanation is that ownership is being cheap, and I just keep glancing to the corner of my room and seeing my pitchfork there, gleaming dangerously in the wan sunlight that filters through my half-drawn curtains. And just... why is this happening?
  14. Could certainly be better than Shark was. Nice!
  15. guffaw. enjoying this thread. do hope we get Gordon though... having just hosted a bunch of KC fans at the winery, he's a very solid ballplayer and worth the dough.
  16. Laugh out loud funny...until it sets in that this is an accurate statement.
  17. Robertson. Long, stressful innings from a highly-paid closer are going to drive people bananas in here.
  18. No kidding, can't believe he is a centerpiece of the network -- the only individual on the planet who could make a baseball junkie change the channel.
  19. Eaton baby. Got to meet Joel Youngblood yesterday during a tasting. Great guy. He's currently an outfield instructor with Arizona and after restraining myself from asking baseball q's until he was nearly through (and a bit looser-lipped), I mentioned Adam Eaton. This led to a few animated "He's my boy!"s and "I taught him everything he knows"s. However, it was more interesting when he talked being pissed that he was traded from the D-backs, AND that he thinks he will lead the league in hitting soon. Wouldn't that be a kick in arse for 2015??
  20. I met Bobby Thigpen's father in law in the street this morning..bit my tongue.
