  1. QUOTE (LDF @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 12:07 PM) and he is still tweeting after all that has happen???? No he hasn't
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 11:52 AM) so Nightengale is making it sound like it is Sox players asking the mlbpa to file a grievance, and not necessarily LaRoche. Bob Nightengale ‏@BNightengale 15m15 minutes ago The #Whitesox players say that LaRoche has made up his mind and will not reconsider. He's done with baseball Based off that tweet? How are you coming to that conclusion?
  3. Sometimes I really hate Chris Sale when he isn't throwing a baseball
  4. Eaton is not even on the card.
  5. All this because of a f***ing 14 year old boy.

  7. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 10:45 PM) Well, I guess I understand now. It seems like maybe as a result of some of the things that have happened, particularly what happened at Penn State, that teachers and parents have really swung the pendulum as far as they can swing it. And I guess I can understand that...I suppose what you said earlier, while it seemed ridiculous to me, might actually be very correct. Things have changed significantly in the last several years for the sake of protecting children. I think what was always described to my generation as "a part of life," has been described to your generation as something to be extremely careful about. Society is as sensitive as ever, unfortunately
  8. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 10:40 PM) Yeah, this is where I feared you were going. So you are basically equating a teenager being in an adult locker room as sending a message that rape and/or molestation is ok...I may as well equate my son being in a car as sending a message that drunk driving is ok. I mean this is completely ridiculous. He is just saying you are putting the kid in a bad situation not that it is telling the kid rape and molestation is ok.
  9. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 10:36 PM) Yeah, I get it...but that isn't what is being alleged here. What is being said is that there is a message being sent to a teenager when he is allowed to be in a locker room that child rape is ok. That is the most ridiculous nonsense I have heard in a while. Btw, I did not say that. All I was saying was that kids nowadays don't want to be in any situation where it is possible to see naked grown men and what you mentioned happened in middle/high school for you regarding coaches and teachers doesn't happen anymore.
  10. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 10:31 PM) Because they are afraid of other men? This is borderline ridiculous now. Anyways, perhaps you are right. Let me just come out and say it, because apparently I am completely oblivious to whatever this message is...are we thinking that men would want to see kids naked? Or is it some kind of homosexual concern? I am completely lost as to what message a father might be giving his son if he were to allow him to be in an adult locker room. No, because there is no reason to and they just don't want the chance of seeing that. I don't even know why someone would want their teenage son to be in a clubhouse with naked men, that is just awkward and weird IMO. Not sure how to explain it really but there is just no good that can come from it, only bad.
  11. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 10:21 PM) 1) But public swimming pools have showers and changing areas where 14 year olds are allowed? 2) You aren't in there to see grown men naked. You are in there to shower and get dressed. I'm not sure why you can't be mature enough as a teenage to understand that your teacher or coach also stinks when he sweats, and also has the anatomy of an adult male, and needs to bathe. I am still waiting for someone to explain to me whatever this message is. I didn't realize you changed the area. What about it? Most teenagers probably don't even go into a locker room at a public swimming pool, they come already dressed in swimming suits on and don't shower before or after. Things are just different now then they were 25 years ago, people are a lot more sensitive. I can't imagine many schools still allowing both students and teachers to shower in the same locker room at the same time. But maybe I am wrong
  12. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 10:11 PM) A public swimming pool? A public swimming pool and a private club are two different things in my eyes. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 10:13 PM) In regards to views on 14 year olds seeing an adult naked? Hah...this is entertaining to me...what is it that I am missing here? What terrible things are happening as a result of men wishing to bathe or change in a locker room? It has nothing to do with men wanting to shower and change in a locker room, it has to do with a young teen being in there when it is happening especially in a high school like you mentioned. Things have just changed. If you were a teacher at a high school would you want to shower in the same locker room as the students are changing in after gym or a sport? No 14 year old teen wants to see a grown man naked especially a teacher they see every day.
  13. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 10:10 PM) 39 So we are 16 years apart. I would assume things have changed a lot from when you were in middle/high school and I was.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 10:03 PM) Do middle school students no longer take showers for gym class or for after-school sports activities? I don't see the big issue with a 14 year old (assuming he's an 8th or 9th grader)...it probably has more to do with LaRoche's overt Christianity and players self-censoring their comments around him, but obviously that happened for roughly 4 or 5 years without any problems in Washington and last year in Chicago. No. I am only 23 and I remember when I had gym in middle school and high school we had the option to shower after gym but hardly ever did someone actually take a shower.
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 09:30 PM) So what about a private health club? Not sure how many young teens are at private health clubs where you have to pay to be a member? And whenever I was that age when we went to work out (at a rec center) somewhere I surely didn't go in the locker room to shower, I tried avoiding going in there to see naked old guys.
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 09:31 PM) Are you guys serious? As a 14 year old? I remember going to the Union League Club as a 10-12 year old and having a bunch of old farts actually swimming naked in the pool. That was weird. But honestly, what "message" are you talking about? Hold on, how old are you? lol
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 08:45 PM) Ok, this is the second time I have seen this now...aren't you in like 8th grade or freshman year when you're 13-14? At my high school, some of the coaches and teachers used the same locker room facilities as us...seeing naked men was sort of par for the course at that age. Your high school shouldn't of allowed that. Recipe for a law suit right there. Also that is just weird, as a grown man and a teacher I would not want to be showering and using the same facilities as my students at the same time.
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 08:15 PM) I don't think an environment that includes naked men is a place most dads want to subject their 8 year old daughter. But it is ok for a 13-14 year old boy to be there
  19. Little Rock went on an 18-3 run with just over 3 min left in the game. What a comeback
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 03:25 PM) I would imagine they would have to pay him a portion of the contract. Unless it was written in his contract, why?
  21. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 01:16 PM) Lol Duke has so many more free throws than Wilmington. UNCW allows then 2nd most free throw attempts in the country
  22. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 12:24 PM) I'm also legitimately concerned moving forward that this will hurt the Sox's FA pull. Can't imagine many players want to be a part of something like this. Is anybody else's kid there all the time? Any FA's we signed the past couple years?
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 11:56 AM) Also doesn't do errands, clean up and help out. It is strange the team reaction is so strong when this LaRoche kid was nothing but a pain in the ass. Why didn't you tell us what a nuisance Drake LaRoche was last season? Why isn't everyone saying what an idiot Chris Sale is for being pissed off about it? Why are you still defending him?

    Having a baby

QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 11:07 PM) Hey, wanted to update this. We hit 12 weeks today. Going to be a dad Congrats to you two!
  25. Maybe the coaches kind of got tired of having to include him in drills and morning practices. Pedro Gomez just got on ESPN and said when he was there last week Drake was catching balls from the 3rd and 1st basemen while doing grounders.
