The bat has been fine lately and the glove is good enough that he's a solid player even without a great stick. Yoan isn't really the problem atm.

Its frankly amazing he's been able to put up a 108 wRC+ this season with his god awful approach and batting stance. He has so much talent he can be a comfortably above average player without a single fucking clue what he's doing in the box. His approach alone is enough to fire Menechino. We have a fucking unicorn and we're turning him into a mule.

Its really not tho. Eloy routinely has close calls on collisions in the OF. Its just a matter of time until he takes out one of our other prized assets if they decide to run him out there most days,

Are you still a big Pollock fan? I didn’t hate the trade because we got something that was projected to be useful out of it, though I certainly preferred a left handed bat. But he’s been dreadful outside a 2 week span in early June.

I am leaning towards that. The overarching points remains tho - Burger sitting glued to the bench doesn't make much sense. He should have been getting everyday at bats in Charlotte the last couple weeks.

He played last night, so cannot be backdated further than today. Plus, its a three day max anyway.

I don't think Burger's lack of playing time has much to do with the injury. They're probably unrelated, or its flared back up. He's stopped playing because Moncada is a better all around player, Jake provides zero defensive utility, TLR has a love affair with Sheets and AV's legs have taken him out of the OF.

Pollock hasn't played RF since May 5th and is hitting .221/.265/.279 against RHP this season. So yeah, I think he's now relegated to LF duty when Eloy DHs for as long as Eloy remains available. Not saying I agree with that, but that appears to be the "plan".

I wonder if he even left the team.

Honestly, at this point, a completely different perspective can't hurt. Would be interesting to see a whole new regime come in that isn't particularly tied to any of these players and what they would do. That said, totally understand the concern that JR would fuck this up too.

We've been at that point since May. But yes, I see nothing from this team atm that shows they would be able string something like that together. They haven't hit all year and a couple weeks back when the bats came alive, the pitching sucked. Its been brutal. But 83 games left. Not dead yet, but they're getting the life support machine ready.
