  1. Yeah, problem is if you grill him you’re never going to get the opportunity again. But I agree.
  2. Its definitely an interesting predicament the Sox will find themselves in this offseason. In my opinion, Jose will be back if he wants to play. Only way he moves on is if he wants to (seems unlikely) or retires (would have said unlikely prior to season, but with his comments in ST, perhaps). It is hard to say this team would be better without Jose - I truly don't believe that - but the team sure falls into place a bit better defensively and lineup-balance wise if he's gone. Spend that $ on a real LH OF - I think I might jump back on that Nimmo bandwagon since he's an impending FA - move AV to 1st (can still play some LF on days when they wanna get Sheets in lineup) and move Eloy to DH fulltime. Anderson SS, Moncada 3B, Robert CF, AV 1B/LF, Eloy DH, Yaz C, Pollock LF, Nimmo RF, Harrison/Leury 2B (would hope they'd improve there, but won't hold my breath with the team option) BN: Leury/Harrison, Sheets, Engel, McGuire/Perez Team defense improves pretty drastically and much more balance in the the lineup. I think Pollock is probably back next year because he's unlikely to opt out on his end for 1/$10-12M, and with the $5M buyout, if the net cost is $5-7M for 1 year, I think Sox keep him around, which is probably fine.
  3. Hopefully he is back in the lineup today, continues to rake and gets promoted to AA next week. Keep the dude happy, we're gonna need him at some point.
  4. Seems like a great day to fire Tony into the sun with the offday. Get Jirschele to San Fran by tomorrow and get this thing pointed in the right direction before the ASG. Otherwise, we're likely dead a week from today.
  5. Right or wrong, If Jose wants to come back, he’ll be back. Likely for too much $.
  6. I don’t really care to look it up rn but when it was brought up here that he said it a couple weeks back, I found the quote and it was a little more tame than the Soxtalk translation. in any event, it’s clearly still affecting him atm.
  7. That’s not really what he said fwiw. He said he feels it and may for a bit. Never said it’s something he expects to feel rest of season, unless I missed it.
  8. I think if I was a prospect I’d be excited at the thought the org I play for isn’t scared of aggressive promotions to the big leagues.
  9. No he’s on the team. He was away from the team Monday as he was sick, but joined team sometimes yesterday. I don’t believe there are taxi squads in 2022.
  10. Fine with a day for AV. He's look rough lately. Just cannot pry Leury out of the lineup tho.
  11. Welp, does anything ever go as planned? Hopefully this is just because minor league conditions aren't quite as glamorous he as expected, mixed with some frustration on not being promoted yet. But send the guy to AA FFS, he's earned it.
  12. I don't think Eloy will be back that soon (he's been dreadful in AAA), and I don't think he's taking LF from Pollock.
  13. Anyone know how to find a link to Hahn's radio apperance today? Believe he was on the Score at 1130am. Trying to find it, but no luck yet. Will post if I do find.
  14. For some reason, that guy would rather be “right” about Moncada, Yaz and Eloy than seeing them do well.
  15. I think Yaz/McGuire is probably the group through 2023. Hopefully next time there is an injury they give Perez a chance and he sticks.
  16. The Sox aren't rebuilding. They probably won't even sell off short term assets in the next month. Right or wrong, they'll stay the course because pretty much this entire team is under control thru 2023 and beyond. We just have to hope they actually acquire a good LHH OF this offseason, and ideally, a whole new coaching staff.
  17. Don't stop now, boys. Strive mightily to start a streak! Get your rest, this one will be worth staying up for.
  18. I watched with one eye open on my phone in bed! Im no quitter!
