I still have a hard time believing that McGuire catching this much gives them the best chance to win. But at this point, I am no longer convinced this is just an early season thing. Looks like we're gonna get 350+ PA of .150 McGuire. Dude has an OPS+ of 7!!

I'd give Cano an MILB deal and stick him in Charlotte for a couple weeks to see if he can still play passable 2B. It would cost the pro-rated minimum, so less than $500k if they called him up. Not a whole lot to lose. But the problem is he can't play 2B any longer. Hard to think he'd be a better option than Yolbert at this point.

Its 5 times, but don't believe April counted with expanded rosters. So Mendick should still be at 0. I think they just want Jake to play everyday.

Makes sense. Burger really has no where to play with Yoan back and they're OK with Mendick sitting on the bench 5-6 days a week. Sheets will go for AV.

I am not too concerned about Pilkington being anything more than a mediocre backend SP. That being said, we could certainly use him at the moment. We also traded him for quite possibly my least favorite White Sox of my lifetime, so that sucks

He had a partially torn ucl last fall that he chose to rehab. Any team acquiring him knew about it; it was the risk they were taking. Nothing concrete about what he’s dealing with yet but any sort of elbow issue with his history is no bueno. Likely a non tender if his ucl is toast.

Can’t say I agree. But easy for me to say, I’m not paying the fine or taking the $58k cut in pay.

Looks like Moncada for Mendick and Kelly for Bummer to IL will be tomorrows moves. Will be interesting to see which of Burger or Sheets go for AV, assuming he’s ready when eligible. Both looked overmatched and could use a trip to Charlotte.
