What bat tho? There aren't any bats worth bringing up and actually playing, other than Moncada and he wasn't ready. Sounds like AV may hit the IL Fri tho, so Yoan should be back.

TLR said rest; didnt want to play 6 in a row after an injury. Dumb, but....honestly, having gotten thru it with a W, I'll take it considering the weather.

Cubs are looking pretty dang spicy this year, eh Jerry?

I admittedly just love Yaz, but I agree. He's going to start barreling the ball and making more contact. He didn't forget to hit over the winter. Dude was a hit machine after his surgery last year when healthy. The club needs Yaz to be playing well; he adds so many things we suck balls at.

Send the idea to @SnarkBuehrle on twitter. She'll spin something up. Some of my favorite hoodies came from her. The Jimmy Muscles one from a couple years back is elite, as is the TA pasta one.

Right. And my guess is Burger is hurting today. Sucky lineup, but that's what we're dealing until AV and Yoan are in it.

Boooo. Yaz isn't going to hit .280, but he'll definitely come around.

Honest question as someone who played hockey likely ~250-300 days a year from ages 5-20: what kind of hockey are you playing that you're still skating 5-6 times a week at age 42? Men's league? Coaching? Both? Because I still dabble with some men's leagues here and there and let's not pretend like the vast majority of men's leagues are anything but gliding around the ice at about 70% with little to no defense or contact. Not exactly equivalent to playing a professional sport everyday. Unless you're playing in a league full of former pros that still get after it 5-6 times a week (seems unlikely, especially at 42), have a hard time drawing any parallels here.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
SP have to go 5 to qualify for a win. Just the rules. One of many reasons W/L is sort of a useless metric for SP. of course Kopech deserves the W over Lopez.

Big Kopech guy but I agree that was a bad look. Don’t mind some fire, but punching the bat rack with your pitching hand while up 3-0 is just dumb and kind of selfish.

Ehhh. Kimbrel had to go.

The Madrigal trade was and remains a complete disaster. Sox could have smoothed it over with a acquiring a better 2B, but they didn’t. It was a very bad move.

Let’s maybe not punch the bat rack next time.

I think you should start a thread.

They've said he is. They just McGuire and have said they're taking it easy on Grandal in the early going. But McGuire kills them offensively and while he's better catcher than Yaz, he has been pretty bad back there last couple weeks. They just need to play Yaz.

Things kind of sort of made sense for the last homestand, even if the play was still awful. But no, he didn't stop to answer your question.

Crosstown Series Game One--6:40 CT
well, TLR is back up to his bullshit. Seems like McGuire is going to be Kopech's personal catcher, so I am not surprised to see him in there but we need to stop playing him 4-5x a week. He's not good.

5/3 Games
4/7 dingers are on the road. So not completely Charlotte-based at least on the power numbers.

5/3 Games
No, its not bad. And if Perez's glove is actually good (I know it been lauded a such in the past), get him up here. I am certain he can hit better than McGuire.

- ESPN+ grades White Sox an F for first month.

Robinson Cano
If he could still play passable defense at 2B, I'd take a chance on him for the min. But he can't. I'd give him a milb deal and let him try to get the bat going in Charlotte purely as a depth play. But I wouldn't give him an mlb job right off the bat. Yolbert should get a shot before Cano. That being said, this feels very White Soxy, so I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest. In fact, I mentioned in right away in the roster cuts thread yesterday when the dfa news came out.
