Yep. The sooner the Sox realize Eloy should be the everyday DH the better. But, they've shown very little willingness to accept this, so I fully expect them to run him out there in LF. Next time her hurts himself he'll probably take Luis, TA or Yoan with him.

I think its pro-rated based on days on the club. So if he lasts 10 games on the roster (10/162=6.17%x$4.2M=$259k). If its fully guaranteed upon arrival, no chance he gets the start.

My guess is they call him up to start one of the DH games on Tuesday*. Not like we have any better options. If he sucks, he gowne. *Probably will have to make the move on Sunday unless Cueto Ok's they waiting a couple days.

Neither of Tim's errors yesterday were really all that egregious and neither directly led to runs. Its troubling that TA continues to make errors, but they didn't lose the game because of TA. Moncada's error was much more costly. And the pen's inability to get the 3rd out in the 9th was really the issue, much exacerbated by Moncada's error.

Right. I live and die by this team as much as the next guy, but sometimes you need to take a step back. Its been a rough 28 games, truthfully. But things can't get a whole lot worse in terms of offensive and injuries and we're still afloat, even with the Twins playing well above their means. Sox are in fine shape. Plenty to be concerned about, to be sure. But considering all circumstances, just fine.

Oh for sure. But the comment from Balta that the reason he's not in the bigs is they're trying to avoid paying him is silly. He's been awful. I think Cueto opts out. He's got 1 start left until 5/15 unless he's willing to pitch on the opt out date. As bas as Keuchel has been, Cueto is a good bet to be worse.

Cespedes is hardly a prospect at this point.

I don't think it has anything to do with paying him. He's been terrible at AAA. There is no indication whatsoever he'd be an improvement over the current 5. If he was dicing up AAA hitters, he'd be here already.
