SoxVan: White Sox big push might be year away
I roasted him on twitter for it. He knew exactly what reaction it would create, and not sure how that benefits anyone or anything associated with the org. Just bad reporting, frankly.

Trade Market for Starting Pitchers...
Lol, I am not campaigning for it dude. Just having a discussion as we sit around waiting for something real to talk about.

SoxVan: White Sox big push might be year away
This article was discussed in length in multiple threads last night. This article title is also clear clickbait by DVS. Shame on him. Hahn didn't say that - some rival ALC scout did.

Trade Market for Starting Pitchers...
8 years $264M remaining. Marlins send $30M if he doesn't opt out after 2020. He could win the 2020 AL MVP, and he still isn't opting out. So really 8 years $234M. How much do they need to send along with Happ to make that a reasonable deal? $8M per year for the balance of the contract making it effectively $21M AAV? Would be interesting, that is for sure.

Trade Market for Starting Pitchers...
That'd be one way to excite this fanbase.

Trade Market for Starting Pitchers...
I haven't said jackshit about Peraza. Peralta. David Peralta. Very different.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
I don't even think its worth the brainpower to analyze.

Trade Market for Starting Pitchers...
For real. If its for one season, I could live with a shitty defensive RF. Its not ideal. But committing to shitty OF defense for 4-5 years in insane.

We're on the same page.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
HARD PASS. Dude is going to make close to $50M in his final 2 years of arb. Just sign Rendon and give up no assets if thats your plan.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
Quite a package for 2 years of an expensive player.

Trade Market for Starting Pitchers...
He ignores things that don't fit his narrative. He's made that abundantly clear thousands of times.

Trade Market for Starting Pitchers...
How many more times will we hear you mention the same tired BS over and over and over again?

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
Sweet should mean Peralta is attainable.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
Yah....as I predicted and was laughed at the other day...I'll believe an exciting winter meetings happens when it happens. This has been a complete snoozer for the first 45 hours.

Cole to the Yankees: 9 years, $324 million.
I don't see any scenerio where Rick Porcello is the Sox top SP addition, and I don't take anything that guy says seriously. His next post that doesn't assume the worst for the Sox will be his first.

Cole to the Yankees: 9 years, $324 million.
I don't even know if I'd want the Sox to sign Cole at 9/$350M or whatever insane deal he is about to get.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
Texas also has no state income tax, so the Sox could have been the higher bidder and still been behind Texas,
-
Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
I am moreso concerned that the Sox were actually interested in Jordan Lyles than the fact that he took a $1M or whatever less to play elsewhere.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
Get back to the war room, ricky.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
Really tough to know. Maeda is probably pretty disgruntled being jacked around in the bullpen with his contract. But then again, he is an awfully nice insurance policy to have. That contract is pretty nice and I imagine alot of teams would like to have him. I think the Dodgers would be willing to move him, but they certainly don't have to, and it doing so doesn't exactly save them much money.

Trade Market for Starting Pitchers...
Lol and throw Covey and.....I don't know...Flores out there everything 5th day? GMAFB. There is 0% chance the Sox don't add a SP.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
Maeda + Pederson And then go sign Ryu or Keuchel would be pretty good solution. Can always transition Maeda to pen or as a swingman in the future - which would really limit his earnings.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
His contract is super goofy though. Controlled thru 23 at $3.125M per year, but has a ton of very attainable performance bonuses tied to GS and IP. Maeda will receive $150,000 each year for making the opening day active 25-man roster. He will receive $1 million for each of 15 and 20 starts, and $1.5 million for each of 25, 30 and 32 starts. Maeda each year will earn $250,000 for each of 90, 100, 110, 120, 130, 140, 150, 160, 170, 180 and 190 innings pitched, and $750,000 for 200 innings. In addition, Maeda receives a $1 million bonus each time he is traded.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
He should be a DH, occasional OF right now.
