I think it indicates it more than just a super minor injury, but I think they just want to be certain with one of their key assets. It could be something more serious like a hyper extended elbow or maybe even a fracture in one of the arm bones I guess, but I'd be super surprised if there is UCL damage.

On the flip side, pretty much all teams in contention need bullpen help.

It seemed like such a minor collision, was initially hoping it was just a stinger....looks like he maybe got Tilsons chin into his rotator cuff. The elbow thing puzzles me. And guys...I don't think TJS is a legitimate possibility here. How often does one tear their UCL in a contact / non-throwing injury? Hopefully just jammed his elbow and needs a week off to let it calm down. Fingers crossed.

He's not good out there, but he has been SIGNIFICANTLY better than he was before the karate kick to the wall.

It would be so damn refreshing to have a completely different coaching staff next season. But I'd be absolutely shocked if any majors changes were made.

Why would we give away Colome?

Obviously inter-division trades are tough, but the twins are very likely to add multiple pen arms in the next 2 weeks. I’d love to raid their farm of a couple nice pieces.

Sox simply are not going to trade Colome or Bummer if the return isn't strong. There is no reason to. Same thing for Leury. Guys like Nova, Jay, Castillo, even Herrera if someone is crazy enough to think he'll rebound, I assume will be moved for salary relief or low level lottery tickets if that is offered. Maybe Yolmer is in that category now as well at this point. McCann is an interesting one. Sox clearly love him - but if someone wants to pay up for his current production, you definitely have to consider moving him.

Right, I would be floored if the Sox got a top 30 prospect for Bummer.

If you can get a guy like Jesus Sanchez for Bummer like the OP suggested, you do that 10x out of ten.

Keep running Reed out there for a bit. He's looked dreadful, but 3 games is a pretty small sample to get going.

Frankly, it was just a matter of time until this team hit a rough patch. It is not a .500ish team, especially without Timmy. The upcoming schedule is fairly manageable, but we really need to get these next 3 from the Royals if getting back to .500 is in the cards.

I like these. They all seem like nice returns for the Sox, which means they may not be realistic, but I dig it. Greinke is an intersting one for sure. Pretty sure he's stated that he hates pitching at the Cell when he was on the Royals - not sure what his NTC looks like, but something to keep in mind. Getting Gohara would be nice, but he hasn't pitched all year with a shoulder surgery. A bit scary, but he would be a nice option for the back of the rotation next season and gives us a much needed LH SP.

Well a few days ago we were 2 games under .500 and Jay was probably the best all around OF on the roster. So that was his purpose. If this slide continues, or we start to sell off pen pieces, I would agree...ship him off to the highest bidder. I'd be surprised if Jay is still on the roster in 2 weeks.

Lets give him more than 8 at bats before we write him off. We're very due to hit on a LH slugger for cheap at some point, and there is no reason not to give him a good look now that he's here.

Honestly, I think most anyone that pays attention to the Sox and has a general knowledge of the game that knows there are benefits to both sides of the argument. Its a pretty simple trade off. Will be interesting to see what the Sox do. We happen to disagree, but I am not going to sit here and say having Robert up for good right now wouldn't be awesome. Of course I'd love it. I do think its always a good call to try and be patient in a process like this, though. Especially as fans.

Jon Jay is a much better player that Charlie Tilson. And Rondon is out of options and cannot just be sent to Charlotte. But I’d be fine losing Rondon at this point. He’s been dreadful this season.

Collins still has options in 2020 and 2021. IF the Sox are still wanting to option Collins in 2022, he probably isn't a big leaguer. I don't think the burning the option thing is something to be mad about in this particular scenario. Not at all surprised to see pnoles go off on a tangent about that, though. The lack of playing time is puzzling, but clearly they weren't going to play him, and with Reed now in the fold as the lefty DH, sending Collins back to AAA to catch most days is the right thing to do when Castillo is activated.
