Let's talk about White Sox promotions and baseball promotions
Robert just yesterday eclipsed 550 minor league at bats. There is no reason to rush him to the big leagues. This has been explained to you many times, but you clearly just don't care to listen. You are on the opposite side of the fence, and that is fine. Not everyone has to agree. But it is OK to see the viewpoints from the other side! Luis Robert will be far more valuable to this organization as a 28 year old in the midst of his prime than as a raw 21 year old on a team that will be lucky to win 75 games. That is really all that matters. I don't think any one is denying that he is best CF in the organization right now and that picking up a couple hundred MLB at bats this summer wouldn't hurt his development. But he'll get 90% of 2020 to get his feet wet in the big leagues, and then the Sox have him for an additional year of control of a potential HOF caliber player in the midst of his prime towards the backend of the Sox' window. It is so worth the wait. If you haven't noticed, the Sox are not in a hurry. They didn't rebuild this thing to get impatient in the 11th hour. They want to spread out the FA of their talented players, and they want to try to extend their contention window as long as possible. Part of doing that is being patient with young talent. Robert was amazing in A+ and has been great again in AA, but the kid hardly played last season, and frankly has played very little organized baseball since he defected from Cuba in 2016. I get wanting the Sox to put their most talented players on the major league roster, but it is okay to be patient! Hahn has said repeatedly that they don't want to promote guys until they're ready to produce at the major league level, and stay there! For years the Sox were impatient, and they're finally starting to do things the right way. Good things come to those that wait, and I have a very good feeling we'll all be very happy the Sox didn't rush into bringing a 21 year kid with very limited pro at bats to the big leagues in a lost season. He'll be here soon enough for us all to enjoy!

The $$$$ will be spent!
I think it goes over $100M.

And that’s a white Sox Twinkie slaying series win
Somehow find a way to go 4-2 this week and the Sox are sitting in a decent place heading into the ASG. I think taking 3/4 from Detroit should be doable. As for the Twins, its a good thing they got off to such a hot start. Their pitching is coming back to reality and will continue to do so, and it's unlikely all of their regulars crush their preseason projections like they did in the 1st half. They have enough of a cushion that they can play .500 ball the rest of the season and still win 93 games. They should still easily win the division, but IMO, they need to do a lot of work to that pitching staff to have any real chances at even making the World Series. Much more likely to get swept or lose 3/4 to the Yankees in the first round, like they are so apt at doing.

GT: Twins (53-29) @ White Sox (38-42), June 30
Don't even bother, you'll never convince him that rushing Robert to the big leagues due to lack of patience is pure stupidity.

All Star Jose Abreu
Ehhh I’d rather not fuck with Eloy, and IMO you should be an all star to be in HR derby.
-
All Star Jose Abreu
He’d be fun to see in the HR derby too.
-
All Star Jose Abreu
I would have preferred Yoan or the top of the game selection for Timmy even tho he wouldn’t be able to play. But good for Jose!

Cease starts game 1 on Wednesday
Nice. Excited to watch him pitch!

Yonder DFA'd
Totally fair, and I completely agree.

Yonder DFA'd
The Sox don’t need 6 position players to produce 3+ fWAR to be “okay”. The Sox obviously need to add some high end SP, and need Kopech and Cease to be solid Mlb starters next season. There is no doubt about that.

Yonder DFA'd
Because you need to fill out your roster. He picked up two veteran SP in Nova and Santana and due to all the injuries we still have spent the last couple weeks with only 3 SP on the roster! Every team picks up guys like this every season. You’re legitimately b****ing about something that all 30 teams do. It’s so silly. Hahn’s short term moves from this offseason haven’t worked out well, no doubt. But they haven’t set the organization back at all, so it doesn’t bear repeating every single day.

Yonder DFA'd
I’m not defending the moves and of course I’d rather have Machado than any of the guys you’ve listed. But we don’t. And the guys you listed are all going to be gone very soon, if they aren’t already. Could Hahn have done a better job filling in holes in the roster with short term pieces? Yes. But I’m also not losing my mind over signing guys like Herrera and Santana and taking on Nova when we clearly needed pitching. Santana was a flop but he cost the organization nothing. No one expected Nova and Herrera to be this bad. Sometimes things don’t work out, and Hahn has had more than his fair share of those. But I’m just not going to lose my mind over short term stop gap players that will all be gone before this team is ready to compete.

Yonder DFA'd
Someday you’ll realize that the Sox weren’t trying to compete in 2019, and that all of those moves were clearly filler until more pieces from the farm were ready. Only one of those guys are even under control in 2020!!! But sure, keep repeating the same tired bullshit every single day if it makes you happy. You’ve single handedly decreased the quality of this message board significantly. It sucks because you clearly know baseball and can have intelligent discussion, but you prefer to just repeat the same shit everyday.

I think the Sox can get Quintana back
Quintana at $10.5M is definitely going to command more than an organizational player. The guy is at worst a rock solid back of the rotation pitcher getting paid appropriately. The Cubs are not going to give him away.

Who gives a fuck dude? Alonso sucked. He clearly was acquired to try to help with Machado. It didn’t work out. He’s no longer on the roster. It was definitely a bad trade, but it’s not like the Sox have up anything of value, and it will have no negative impact moving forward.

Sample sizes are your friend.

White Sox vs Twins 3:12 PM Nova vs Pineda
Leury, Moncada, Abreu, McCann, Jay, Jimenez, Yolmer, Collins DH, Cordell not much to complain about here. Wouldn’t mind seeing Jay in CF and Palka in RF but this works too.

Interested to see this lineup.

The $$$$ will be spent!
Hamilton and Burdi should be healthy for next year. Hamilton will be in the pen. Burdi is a big question mark at this point, but I suppose the knee is better than an arm injury.

I think the Sox can get Quintana back
Ya in a White Sox thread discussing Yonder Alonso you guys are off talking about Cubs players. This thread was literally about Quintana, and I responded to the OP question. This board spends so much time discussing meaningless Cubs bullshit it’s insane. I apologize if it seemed like I was attacking you - it’s obviously not just you, and that was not my intention. Just gets annoying to weed through.

Hamilton done for season
Can’t put guys in the minors on the MLB 60 day IL. Ryan Burr is the only one could can go on 60 day.
