  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 05:49 PM) If this franchise is sub .500 for 3 straight years, we have really big problems. No, remember that the Sox hired Robin with the assumption and expectation that team would be rebuilding. Honestly I do not see the team being competitive till 2016, and I expected them to win around 75 games this year.
  2. I want a top ten pick this year and another top 15 pick next year. I think a few trades are coming that will guarantee a top ten pick, which will really benefit the team because the draft is pretty solid.
  3. Trey M Micker Aldolfo Jake Jarvis
  4. I have an idea: Jefferson Olacio as the future closer of the White Sox.
  5. If you a prospect is struggling, why do you continue to play him everyday. Trey M (My favorite prospect in the system btw) is 0 for his last 39?, and is obviously stuck in a rut, but he keeps going out there everyday. Why not give him a chance to breathe and collect himself?
  6. Can you imagine a rotation with Sale, Quintana, Rodon, Danish and with Spencer Adams/Luis Martinez down the line? That sounds pretty scary and could make the Sox very dangerous for the years to come. In regards to the system in general, this is the strongest the farm has been in years, maybe a decade.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 18, 2014 -> 08:44 PM) They wouldn't give up Harvey for Danks and Beckham. Also, Keith Law had this to say about Sisco Kevin (Baltimore) Did any other Orioles come close to cracking your list? Also, have you seen Chance Sisco recently? His numbers have been ridiculous. Klaw (2:28 PM) No, although Rodriguez would be on the top 100 again. Saw Sisco a few weeks ago. He can't catch. No idea where they'll put him. I dont tend to listen to Keith Law that much when it comes to prospects, and I read more good things than bad things about Sisco. Back to what you were saying about acquiring Harvey, if I am going to trade you pitching, especially a quality pitcher at a affordable price like John Danks, I want pitching back.
  8. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Jul 18, 2014 -> 08:11 PM) Would anyone really want to draft Aiken after all this news about his UCL? If he's that prone to a future injury, why would anyone want him? That's like drafting Kerry Wood or Prior with foresight about their injury plagued careers. Not the the Astros didn't screwed the pooch on this one, plus treated Aiken terribly. I feel sorry for Astros fans. I would have a guy like Kerry Wood on my team as a GM, but I would still draft Aiken top 5 next year assuming that he performs worthy of that selection.
  9. QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 07:55 AM) Well go ahead and post that my man Give me a week, I'm still getting info. Ill try to have a list of players, along with their vitals and a small scouting report.
  10. I think Bo Porter is a fantastic manager. Every time I watch the Astros, they always play fundamentally sound baseball and they're fun to watch.
  11. I just spent a hour looking up Cisco and he has a lot of fans out there, he puts up big numbers and although he transitioned to playing catcher during his senior year of high school after playing shortstop exclusively he has advanced skills behind the plate for someone his age. If I were Rick Hahn and engaging with Baltimore in trade talks, I would do everything in my power to get back Hunter Harvey or Kevin Gausmann, but for the sake of this trade lets try to get Hunter Harvey because he's 19 and its going to be a while before he reaches the bigs. I would send them Danks, and Beckham for both Sisco and Harvey.
  12. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jul 18, 2014 -> 07:13 PM) when/where is rodon pitching? Probably at the beginning of August, he has to train for a few weeks in Arizona before we can play with Winston Salem.
  13. Spencer Adam is on point tonight, 5 Ks through 4. (Alex Jackson has been on point too) The DSL team is putting up some great numbers as a team when compared to the standard DSL averages.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 02:56 PM) It depends on the offers. If someone offers $20 million, and the Sox offer $10 million, there is no way on god's green earth he takes the Sox offer. I personally don't think that he's worth over $10 Million, but I would go after Aiken hard as long as the price and contract remain reasonable, maybe buy out some are years but I would do everything to have him in a Sox uniform.
  15. QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 02:21 PM) Its been reported that 10M won't be enough. How true that is, I do not know. I just can't see him hitting the free agent market. It might be enough if you have Sale and Coop talk to him about the team's pitching program and how they manage their pitchers. I imagine that MLB dosent want this to happen, and Scott Boaras is going to go off if it does. Remember he said that he believes that Kris Bryant should be making more money than Abreu is now.
  16. If I'm Rick Hahn, I'm getting an offer ready for Aiken if he reaches FA. I might go $10 million for Aiken, I think he's that good.
  17. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 07:29 AM) Just curious, Josh, but why are you comparing Trey to Corey Seager? I think he's the games elite 3rd base prospect not name Kria Bryant and Trey and Corey Seager have similar profiles.
  18. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 10:41 PM) At the same age/level (19, single-A): Seager- .309/.389/.529, 10.9 BB%/18.6 K%, .220 ISO, .353 BABIP Trey- .297/.379/.477, 10.2 BB%/27.9 K%, .180 ISO, .407 BABIP It's not close between the two. Trey's numbers are nice, Seager's are elite. Trey may be hitting near .300 but he's not making good contact. I really have no idea how you could consider him to have the best contact skills in the system. I was talking about the lower level guys, but I think that Trey has the best combination of contact and power skills in the system, who's better? And there was a good period where Seager struggled in his first full season., I still think that the two are comparable.
  19. If I already had Tommy John at a young age, I would sign with the Sox and not take the risk of injuring myself again in college.
  20. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 08:43 PM) Trey is striking out at an Hawkins-esque rate. Still young, but definitely some serious flaws he needs to fix. I notice that too, but he's a guy who can hit at a high average and has might have the best contact skills in the farm but that should be something that comes down with experience. I like comparing his stats to Corey Seager of the Dodgers at this time last year and I think that he is doing better.
  21. QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 11:15 AM) Please go right ahead, probably know more than me, sorry for doing so, just post your stuff right in here Do we have similar tastes just for the hell of it? Like any of these prospects for us or just in general? I was going to do more HS guys than college players
  22. Luis Martinez is looking pretty good in AZL ball, strikeout machine and the first signing by Marco Paddy
  23. I was going to make this thread, but I guess I can combine my info with yours.
  24. The Sox aren't in a position to trade away prospects in my opinion.
