  1. If Zobrist doesn’t file for divorce and takes a personal leave, the Cubs don’t sign Kimbrel. He did them a favor.
  2. Cool but I think that’s a little rich. The Braves are deep on pitching and I think Anderson, while highly rated and a very good prospect, is extendable for Atlanta
  3. From the Braves, I would like to see Ian Anderson coming back to the Sox.
  4. What’s wrong with Jace Fry? Why can’t this team take walks? Why can’t this team win on the road? Why can’t Ricky get his team to play decent defense?
  5. The Mariners draft is terrible. What are they doing? I find it unlikely the top player on the board at their picks have all been pitchers.
  6. I like College: RP Zach Less (LSU), SP Ryan Pepiot (Butler), P Erik Miller (Stanford), SP/RP Graeme Stinson (Duke) and RP Matt Cronin (Arkansas) Prep: OF Chris Newell, CF Dasan Brown, SS Connor Walsh, SP Jack Kochanowicz
  7. In the third round I want: College: RP Zach Less (LSU), SP Ryan Pepiot (Butler), P Erik Miller (Stanford), SP/RP Graeme Stinson (Duke) and RP Matt Cronin (Arkansas) Prep: OF Chris Newell, CF Dasan Brown, SS Connor Walsh, SP Jack Kochanowicz I don’t think Hampton is a serious possibility, unless the Sox saved massive cash with Vaughn.
  8. Didn’t the Sox want Adell in that draft?
  9. HSers could help extend the window too.
  10. I don't like Vaughn. I think taking a 1B only prospect and a bad body guy that high is mistake and would be a terrible pick. He would have to hit out of his mind to make it worthwhile.
  11. I hope the pick is between Abrams and Bleday, who I think will make the bigs quickly.
  12. Keuchel wouldn’t be a number 5 starter for the Sox, he would be a TOR option for the team. I hope the Sox look at other avenues to improve their staff that don’t involve Keuchel, who looks like a terrible contract waiting to happen. ******* I know the team’s run differential is absurd but the Sox were blown out a lot in April and they are over performing their expected win/loss record. If they’re able to get average pitching from the staff for the rest of the season, a .500 isn’t out of the question. But if the Sox aren’t making the playoffs, they should seriously consider trading some veterans on the team like Colome to bolster the farm one more time (Braves are a great trade for).
  13. I bet the under on Seattle. They were at 71.5 iirc
  14. Looking at another top ten pick this draft seems to be strong in pitching. I like: C Bailey RHP Hancock CF Veen RHP Wilcox LHP Fisher LHP Crochet 3B T. Witt 3B Morales
  15. I know Hostetler said that the Sox have one of the biggest groups of amateur scouts but I wish they would make a similar commitment to their analytics department and pro scouting, which always seems to be a problem for them as of late.
  16. Why does no one talk about Bobby Witt the same way they do about Abrams? Abrams has the better hit tool than Witt and projects to stay up the middle. Witt would be a project just like Hawkins, Abrams and other athletic prep players. There’s one difference that I can think of.
  17. The Sox should hook him up with the guys from Driveline this offseason regardless of how the rest of his season plays out.
  18. Yeah the Sox really need guys like that in the system. They’re devoid of athletes and up the middle players.
  19. For what it’s worth, the Sox are currently slightly outperforming their Pythagorean Win-Loss project which has the Sox at 21-30 as of this post they are 23-28. The Pythagorean projection puts the Sox on pace for 66 wins and another top five draft pick.
  20. For a guy who’s a been applauded for his ability to develop young players, I’m shocked at how bad the Sox are on defense. They ranked 28 in Ricky’s first year, 27th last year and they’re ranked 29th so far this season in terms of fielding percentage and errors. Would you say that the Sox are a better fundamental team since he took over? Do you see any improvement? What’s the last fundamentally sound White Sox team? 2012? I’m also not a fan of his lineup construction and he’s not a good in game strategist. Alonso and Castillo have no business batting cleanup. Tim Anderson needs to be batting higher up in the order, I’ve been a proponent of batting him lead off, he could bat fifth or sixth too. Yeah, Ill give Ricky some credit for Anderson’s success and Moncada’s emergence (fingers crossed) but I think the Sox should bring in a new manager and conduct a search for someone outside of the organization. Even if they do hire someone from the inside, they should interview as many people as possible to get a feel on how other organization’s do thing and apply what they learn to the org.
  21. A big failure of this rebuild has the Sox inability to acquire veterans and flip them for meaningful prospects/assets. I know they’ve trade some relievers for some decent players but the players who came back to the Sox were marginal prospects.
  22. He needs to learn how to spin the ball and how to induce more grounders
