A Realistic Offseason
3 years and $39M

A Realistic Offseason
Braves just signed Will Smith.

White Sox part ways w/ Todd Steverson & Greg Sparks, name Frank Menechino as new Hitting Coach
Was hoping for someone from the college ranks but this looks like a good hire.

A Realistic Offseason
I know everyone is rightfully focused on improving the offense but I am really tired of seeing poor defensive baseball. Grandal would help in this area a lot, so would two new starting pitchers but hopefully the team’s defense is shored up too

Rangers might trade lefthanded hitter/outfielder
What?

A Realistic Offseason
How about this lineup: Robert - CF Moncada - 3B Grandal - C Abreu - 1B Eloy - LF Moustakas - DH Dickerson - RF Anderson - SS Madrigal - 2B

A Realistic Offseason
Wheeler, Grandal, Moustakas, Porcello/Lyles, incentive laden deal), Betances, Pomeranz/McHugh

Grandal - Early Off-Season Speculation
He’s my top target for them now with JDM out. He’s a positive framer and a high OBP guy. He can switch hit and I’d love to see him batting third after Moncada and before Abreu/Eloy. Signing him would help maximize McCann as he’ll be pushed to a reserve role as a left handed specialist bat. 3/$55M with an option for a fourth year at $18M is my prediction

Grandal - Early Off-Season Speculation
I really want Grandal but the Sox should’ve signed him last year, now they would get him a year older.
-
JDM staying in Boston
You can’t trade draft picks either and the Nationals got Trea Turner almost ASAP after he was drafted
-
JDM staying in Boston
Think it’s possible for the Sox and Boston to work out a sign &trade for JDM? Doing this will allow the Sox to keep their first round pick. And Boston could get some (filler)prospects/cash/salary relief coming back to them.

2019 World Series
I thought Scherzer had a small zone than Grienke
-
A Realistic Offseason
I understand removing him from out of the MLB dugout but I wouldn’t have minded him staying on in a player development capacity
-
A Realistic Offseason
Not the Sox philosophy though, they like to develop their pitching, not sign high priced mega free agents.

Madrigal Wins Gold Glove
I would agree with Tim batting sixth in the order as of right now. I think there’s more power in him to be untapped.

Madrigal Wins Gold Glove
Batting Moncada third is a waste. The third hitter gets a lot of at bats with no one on base.

Madrigal Wins Gold Glove
I’ve put the Sox players into lineup optimizers that I could find online. I’ve ran simulations with just internal options and I’ve ran simulations with guys like Martínez, Grandal, Nimmo, and Dickerson added. One thing is consistent in all the best possible lineups for the Sox regardless of who’s in the lineup, Madrigal is batting ninth. Madrigal isn’t a run producer, so he shouldn’t be batting in top of the order. I’d rather make sure guys like Moncada and Robert get more PAs than Madrigal. I think batting him ninth allows him to be another table setter and give guys like Robert and Moncada more RBI opportunities.

Madrigal Wins Gold Glove
I couldn’t agree more. Robert fits the profile of the new lead off man perfectly. His speed and power combo is something I’d like to see at the top of the lineup. 9. Madrigal 1. Robert 2. Moncada

Madrigal Wins Gold Glove
I think he gets signed to an extension this spring training. He’s going to be a good player for the Sox for a long time with his glove and his ability to make contact. I know some people here see him as a leadoff hitter but to me, he’s the ideal nine hitter (second lead off man).

I hope the Sox here John Malle to be the assistant or hire him to run the hitting program in the farm.

FS: With increased expectations, the 11th pick feels different this time for White Sox
Always take the BPA, no matter what.

A Realistic Offseason
Why would the Sox even entertain the idea of trading Moncada? Has to be one of the most assets in the game.
