  1. What will it take for Renteria to use the opener?
  2. I think the Sox already have their leader and his name is Tim Anderson
  3. If it was someone from the inside, it would’ve been announced in the press release that announced Hostetler’s promotion/change/whatever.
  4. Regarding who’s taking over, the longer this takes to be announced, the more likely we’re looking at an outside hire.
  5. What has Hostetler done to deserve to be fired?
  6. Yeah, there was no one on the site with the title and I don’t remember Hahn or anyone else from the FO mentioning someone handling that responsibility
  7. Did the Sox even have someone officially running pro scouting beforehand?
  8. Pro scouting has been a major weakness for the org for a very long time, I like the idea of the Sox putting Hostetler there. Hopefully they go outside the org to replace him as Dir. of Amateur scouting.
  9. Seeing the progress of Moncada, Anderson and James McCann to a degree, I have no problem with Severson as I want to see him work with Eloy, Madrigal and Robert but what is his overall hitting philosophy? Because it would be nice to see the team take more walks but maybe that comes down to the guys on the roster.
  10. I’m very intrigued by him. I’m not expecting much from him this year in terms of his stat line. Coming from Mississippi, he probably has never faced talent like this before and he’s very raw. I’m curious to see what instructs does for him.
  11. The Sox rebuild didn’t start till the winter of 2016. So those previous years don’t really count but I get your point
  12. What can the Cubs offer the Sox? They have a barren system.
  13. I know Anderson is out but Rick’s inability or unwillingness to optimize his lineup is indefensible. Why is Reed batting ahead of Eloy? Why is Collins, someone with absolutely zero speed, batting ninth?
  14. See you mid April 2020.
  15. I think the walks will go up once as he continues to entrench himself in this new approach.
  16. Am I alone in thinking that Robert has the highest ceiling in the system? He’s plays up the middle in CF, he’s super toolsy with all five of his tools above average at the very least and looks to be an offensive force. I think he’s up in September.
  17. McCann is a big win for the Sox pro scouting and development staff. When’s the last time they had a win like this?
  18. Anyone else think he goes to the AFL?
  19. I need Will Smith on this team next season https://blogs.fangraphs.com/the-best-reliever-on-the-trade-market/
  20. Hopefully the Sox don’t trade Bummer.
  21. Why send him with Moncada coming up?
  22. I think the best time to trade a reliever is during the season while teams are in the hunt for playoff spots. That’s when you can put a premium on your relievers.
  23. With the injuries and black holes in the rotation, I’d say they’re not falling out the top ten. Fangraphs is projecting to finish with the eighth overall pick as of tonight.
  24. I just bought the book. Should be here tomorrow, very excited!
  25. Let’s get this dude, move Cooper into an advisory role/roving instructor and hire Brian Bannister to be the pitching guy in the organization. He’s very analytical inclined and has been working for the Red Sox for the past few years http://www.nbcsports.com/boston/red-sox/why-hasnt-rising-star-brian-bannister-left-red-sox%3famp https://www.si.com/mlb/2019/06/07/boston-red-sox-brian-bannister-mvp-machine
