  1. QUOTE (bmags @ May 6, 2014 -> 12:21 PM) Pretty sure any Noesi start should just be penciled in as automatic W. Is it opposite day? Or is green text missing?
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 6, 2014 -> 09:20 AM) I went to Wrigley last night. They said 33k but closer to 25k IMO if that, where actually there. It was so cold. One thing about USCF, those boards in the OF block some wind. Nothing to block the wind at Wrigley. My hands were frozen. I didn't anticipate needing gloves in May. One thing they don't do at Wrigley that they do at USCF now is the pat down and wand check of your being. I wonder why the Cubs don't have to do it. Not a chance there was 25K there last night. Place was empty.

    5/4 Games

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 5, 2014 -> 10:17 AM) Right now, without doing a ton of research (with Abreu, Semien, EJ, Webb all graduating), I'd probably go with these guys above Danish... Anderson Davidson M Johnson Hawkins Thompson Sanchez Ravelo Possibly Beck also, but I think I'd have to give the nod to Danish. I guess more so than 8-10, I'd go 7-9 range, now that I look at it. This comes from the fact that I think he's either 4-ish starter, or a setup reliever, depending on how his body holds up. And I see a significant chance it doesn't hold up. Weird how much the system has changed in a short period - that is 7 position players before I'd feel comfortable putting in a pitcher. Caveat - this can change a lot between now and the next list (July/August), and in fact their first draft pick will almost assuredly be #1, and their 2nd round guy may even break into the top 10. I understand the first 4, and while I know you are much more versed in these things than I, there is no way i'd put any of the last 3 ahead of Danish at this time.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 5, 2014 -> 01:57 PM) Chicago White Sox ‏@whitesox 3m Abreu is the first American League player ever to receive both honors in his first month in the majors. #SoxPride Abreu set major-league rookie records in home runs, RBI, extra-base hits and total bases through April. That's good right? I mean it's not Anthony Rizzo good, but we can be proud of something like that right?
  5. This lineup is ugly. Glad we got Beckham back, doing wonders for his value
  6. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 29, 2014 -> 10:16 PM) 2 on, one out, with a 3-0 count? Make him throw two strikes. Take the first one. No way, that was a meatball
  7. Stay hot flavum. f*** Detroit.
  8. I said it earlier this season, and I'll say it again now: you get through April with a .500 or better record and this team is for real. Their May schedule is as soft as a pillow, time to get fat and put some separation between us and the rest of the division. On a side note, had a blast at the game last night. I love these empty April games. Had 500 levels from the free survey and ended up in the 6th row behind the Sox on deck circle by the end of the game, doesnt get much better than that.
  9. Hopefully they are letting people into 100 level, don't see this game drawing well
  10. When can we plan on hearing if this game is going to happen by?
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 24, 2014 -> 03:30 PM) Let's face it. It's a miracle the Sox are close to .500. Once the hitting cools off we're still a 90-95 loss team. The split was a nice miracle in Detroit. Like I said, a miracle. Our only hope of remaining close to .500 is if Abreu, Viciedo and Dunn and Lexi rake all summer and Sale can pitch. Abreu is so good that might happen. You spew some of the most ignorant s*** I've ever read from a baseball fan. I realize it's a bit, but give it a rest man.
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 24, 2014 -> 03:24 PM) Good split, I'm pretty happy with it. Not gonna lie, I am pretty damn happy as well. Splitting the series in Detroit without Sale, Eaton, Gillaspie, Avi, etc. says a lot about what this team is capable of to me. The tides are changing, this is a very fun team. I am looking very forward to watching them grow.
  13. Rienzo doing a really nice job so far, exactly what you need out of your 5th.
  14. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 16, 2014 -> 08:57 AM) How? Davidson's in AAA. Right, and his arbitration clock hasnt even started yet, whereas Reed is a year closer to free agency. If you can make a trade for a potential franchise player at 3rd for a closer, you do it.
  15. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 15, 2014 -> 11:12 PM) With Buchholz on the mound, I doubt it. But we'll see. You seen him pitch this season?
  16. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 15, 2014 -> 10:51 PM) Johnson's velocity wasn't any better today than in his previous starts, but he was aggressive and he got his off-speed pitches over. Good to see. Throw that deuce for strikes, and you can throw 91-92
  17. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Apr 15, 2014 -> 10:49 PM) That Napoli injury was huge That finger looked grisly
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 15, 2014 -> 10:47 PM) Anyone else think Semien went on the 2-2? Definitely went.
