QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 2, 2015 -> 10:20 AM) Now that Eaton is becoming more of a power hitter, I wouldn't mind him being shifted to #2 and Melky down in the 5-6 range. The issue, as you pointed out, is where he'd play among the Melky/Eaton/Thompson/Garcia shuffle with Shuck as a backup. I think you set up a rotating basis where Eaton is in LF full time and then Span/Thompson are in CF, Thompson/Cabrera are in RF, and Thompson/Cabrera/LaRoche cycle around at DH.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 2, 2015 -> 10:26 AM) Could have sworn he received and rejected a QO. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/11/nati...pan-fister.html
-
Anyone else thinking this could be a good fit? Positives -No QO attached -Another high OBP bat at the top of order, allows Abreu to hit 3 -3 of last 4 seasons have been 3+ WAR -Length and terms of contract wont be too bad -Doesnt strike out a lot Negatives -Hip injury last season -Poor DRS numbers in CF last season (could be b/c of injury) -Sox would need to be creative about OF positions -Poor power OF, so would need to find more SLG from infield

If the organization does decide to get rid of Montas in a trade, I wouldnt mind them signing Shawn Kelley for a setup role. He is a nice under the radar bullpen option.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 10:30 PM) Arizona wouldn't give up Pollock for Miller. Pollock put up a 6.6 fWAR last season. He's young and extremely cheap. DBacks should keep him with Peralta and Goldschmidt going forward. Oh I agree they arent trading him. I think it's asinine the Braves even asked for him.
-
I'd be ok with Zobrist, good player at a position of need, no draft pick needed

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 07:25 PM) This isn't sox related but if you're thinking about Quintana for Pollock from Arizona. Just a little bit of info on him. Thought it was interesting because he's a guy I'd target trading Quintana for. FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Braves "keep trying" to trade for A.J. Pollock. Rosenthal says they offered Shelby Miller for Pollock, which was rejected, and then their counter of Miller and Arodys Vizcaino for Pollock and Aaron Blair was also rejected. It's difficult to see why the D'Backs would be willing to trade Pollock, as they are aiming to contend in 2016 and the center fielder is coming off a breakout season. Pollock is under team control through 2018 and general manager Dave Stewart revealed earlier this offseason that he's discussed a possible extension with the outfielder's agent. Source: Ken Rosenthal on TwitterDec 1 - 7:56 PM Q is a much better pitcher than Miller, I think a 1:1 swap would be pretty close. Would love Pollock.

Sad things about deals like this is that it's really hard for me to imagine Sale wanting to stay with the Sox if they aren't winning and aren't paying him market value. You know sure as s*** the Sox won't pay him what he deserves.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 10:30 AM) I would say that Ray from Louisville is an early favorite with his ties to the ACE Academy. Should be a fun season with so many high picks I 100% believe Ray will be the pick if he's there

QUOTE (Al Lopez's Ghost @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 10:01 AM) I know Nancy. She owns the organ, but gave it to the White Sox for the sale. That's cool to hear. I hope whoever buys it wants to preserve it at the park or HOF though, that isn't something that should be collecting dust in someones basement.
-
Anyone else think this is kinda bulls***? Shouldnt this be something that is either given to her as a gift or immortalized somewhere at the park?
-
Some new names to add to the list of interesting position players: Kyle Lewis Delvin Perez Zack Collins Willie Abreu
-
I like our rotation. Any surplus should be used to everyday offensive players.

NOV. 30: Hwang has now officially been posted. Clubs will have until 5:00pm ET on Friday to submit bids for the third baseman.
-
Trading for Lawrie and signing Hwang would give some nice infield options too. Can have Lawrie slide to 2B.
-
Frazier would be my preferred, especially if it gets done without Anderson or Fulmer, but I think Lawrie presents a good target for the Sox. Atleast infield defense would be pretty solid.
-
Ya, not giving up Q for this clown http://www.tmz.com/#article/2015/11/27/yas...puig-bar-brawl/
-
Not sure Ventura will use him effectively, but not a horrible signing

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 23, 2015 -> 10:02 AM) Never mentioned anything about Walker. All I stated was Danks apparently isn't as bad as a lot of people think, if we look at advanced stats. 4.71 ERA, 4.49 FIP, 4.65 xFIP, 6.28 K/9, 2.84 BB/9, averaging 5.9 innings a start. Not exactly good.

Perdomo, Selman, and Rivera are all interesting
-
Surprised they went Brennan over Tago or Smith honestly

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 20, 2015 -> 09:54 AM) Interesting topic. By the way, Einhardt was released I believe. My guesses... AAA: Beck, Jaye, Heidenreich, Blackmar or AAAA, Drabek or AAAA AA: Fulmer, Danish, Guerrero, Clark, Dykstra (that is a NICE rotation) A+: Erwin, Almonte, Adams, Lowry, Thompson, Stephens (another nice rotation - though the first three aren't likely to stay there all season), which is six but I think piggyback Erwin and Stephens maybe A: LMartinez, Quintero, Solórzano, Easterling, Frebis (hard to say, this could be a very good or very bad group or anywhere between) Rk: Acosta, Magallones, Done, ASanchez, Comito plus filler and, later, draft picks (plus a LatAm guy or two we're not thinking of yet) Previous starters to bullpen (Some were already moved): Montas (AAA) if not on Sox, Marin (AAA), Barnette (AAA), RLeyer (AA), Wheeler (AA), Cose (AA), Brennan (AA), Trexler (A+), Ball (A), Banks (A or A+) Left out, maybe pen, maybe gone: Bucciferro, Peralta Will join later: Hickman, Fry The above also assumes EJohnson is pitching for the White Sox, and Scotty Carroll is either with the Sox or found another gig. Interesting, you think they prefer Stephens in the rotation instead of out of the pen?

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Nov 20, 2015 -> 08:30 AM) I'm referencing Molly Knight's book again, but yes it was that good. That whole story about Greinke is detailed in there. He's very smart but he's an introvert and just very odd. He has tendencies similar to someone with Asperger's Syndrome at times. The Greinke stuff in that book is fascinating. It's not surprising that he's had the anxiety issues that he's had. I'd also be stunned if he doesn't end up back in LA or in SF. Chicago or New York would eat that dude alive. Best Team Money Could Buy? Was thinking about picking that up for vacation
-
Ya, at best I see Fulmer starting in AA. Probably get 2-3 starts at high A, then move to AA. THAT rotation though.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Nov 19, 2015 -> 10:22 PM) He doesn't want to trade Eaton, Abreu, Rodon, Q, and Sale. I don't think he was totally on board with signing DRob, LaRoche, and Melky though. This.
