  1. Especially when you haven’t studied
  2. The quit was obvious early in this one.
  3. Oi, spoke too soon on Burger being tested.
  4. He’s made the routine play, had a nice flat footed DP turn, but hasn’t really been tested.
  5. Yup. A competent org shuts them down but of course they won’t intentionally tank.
  6. Not even remotely. He was running awfully gingerly to 1B.
  7. Holy s%*# could they be any dumber about injuries?
  8. That is about the only intrigue I have. And I expect it to be a catastrophe.
  9. The deck is pretty stacked against them down the stretch, but by all means let them be deluded enough to not sell those pieces this weekend. Whatever benefits the Sox return in the market.
  10. I was laying out how unlikely a Cubs playoff berth would be w/o actually responding to the poster. The only Sox race I care about is a race to the bottom!
  11. Maybe the ground beneath the playing field opens up and swallows both teams whole? A person can dream...
  12. Rockies get the Nats and A's this week, while the Sox get the Cubs and Guards. Sox could be firmly 3rd worst by the deadline. Sell baby sell!
  13. More than half of their final 60+ games are against teams ahead of them in the standings. 6.5 back of MKE and 5 back of a Wild Card with about 5 superior teams they would need to leapfrog. By all means let them not sell and then get their asses kicked by Cincy and ATL immediately following the deadline to knock them further back.
  14. Meh. Grifol is the obvious scapegoat and the company men probably know he’s fair game. Wake me up when they take JR to task for the state of this org…
  15. ESPN has the Sox rotation lined up as follows: Tues 7/25 - Kopech Wed 7/26 - Lynn Thrs 7/27 - Cease Fri 7/28 - Gio Sat 7/29 - Toussaint Sun 7/30 - Kopech Mon 7/31 - OFF Tues 8/1 - Lynn Trade deadline is 5:00PM CT on Tuesday Aug 1.
  16. He looked solid, which the Sox are unable to recognize, thus being stuck in the minors until they are completely desperate.
  17. And even if they could, we are just as likely to get another Nick Madrigal or Andrew Vaughn over an Adley Rutchsman or Gunnar Henderson.
  18. Oh they are going to be very bad, intentional or not. We are in for a very long and ugly period of being very bad with every attempt at a quick fix thrown at the chasm they have dug for themselves.
  19. There are no good answers here. The organizational rot goes all the way to the top. A new GM, VP baseball ops, whatever, still has to work for JR. The farm is barren, the FO can't identify talent, draft, and or develop, an the chairman likely wants to cut costs. I can't remember a time when fan apathy has been at this level, at least not since the White Flag trade. Attendance will be down, as well as eyeballs watching on tv. They did this all to themselves, and of course they have no clue how to fix it, but even if they did, how would they? I foresee trading of rentals & short term assets for near ready "prospects", signing of stopgaps, and a whole lot of hot air from the FO about the window still being open, and liking what they have, and their ability to compete for the division. All while they struggle to win 60 games next season and still face zero accountability. It is going to be ugly.
  20. How do you quantify "quite healthy" when Moncada, Eloy, TA, Clevinger, Kelly, Crochet, Liam, and Romy have all missed significant time, and AV is in a walking boot with no word on how long he will be out? I know you love to argue and to correct people, but my point about injuries being an issue still stands. This org never values depth, which only exacerbates the injury issues. It was as predictable as anything.
  21. Injuries ravaging this team again was easy to predict. They had maybe 3 starters worth a damn. Eloy being MIA was predictable, as was the complete lack of depth, but TA cratering and AV being ostensibly invisible weren't. Being free of TLR didn't give them they bounce many were predicting either.
