I have zero expectation that they make any noise if they get into the playoffs. But the post season is still within reach in August and let's face it, making the playoffs is still a monumental achievement for this franchise. I want them to get there now even if I've wanted it all to crash & burn in utter chaos for a solid chunk of this summer. It is still possible to root for success in full awareness of the many organizational failings and roster shortcomings while also having enough emotional detachment to not let them make you miserable when they utterly embarrass themselves.

Robert 3-4 w/ 2 BB a facing Lefties. Sox left countless men on base before facing the lone RHP on the night in the 9th. And it wasn’t pretty as you witnessed.

We may not like the return, but both are tradable separately. Both have shown to be productive in the past and some GM would bank on a change of scenery/coaching. Moncada is an GG level defender at 3rd, those don’t exactly grow on trees. TA is a former batting champ and 2 time All Star. To suggest that the *only* way to get rid of them is to package them together is patently absurd. I understand the frustration, that is completely valid, but the loss of objectivity here is something else.

Adam Engel seems to have lost any ability to hit, so he really only should be a defensive sub. JBJ isn’t the answer to our RF woes though. Sox simply don’t have an RF on the roster and we just have to suffer through the shitshow TLR runs out there every day as if it is passable or fine.

2011 Adam Dunn was one of the single most abysmal seasons ever for an everyday player. Grandal is likely cooked and the remainder of his contract looks awful, but he’s no 2011 Adam Dunn. Dunn had some level of productivity left in the bad after 2011 while injury looks to have robbed Yaz of whatever he had left. It’s not a fair comparison to make, and I hold no fondness whatsoever for either player.
