  1. Post trade, the over all salary allocation looks far better. It was just mind boggling for a while and with their history the fan frustration is understandable. Today the payroll looks far more sensible than it did on Thursday. Still not the best use of funds in some areas, but nothing we should really be setting our hair on fire over. Add another starter and a Crochet replacement (FA or internal) and the off-season looks far better than it did two days ago.
  2. Last year might be more of an outlier, but he’s always hit righties well. If healthy he could be a big boost for a lineup less than stellar vs RHP.
  3. Honestly, meh. He wouldn’t have closed here, and he was terrible in his short tenure, so it honestly doesn’t bother me if he’s successful elsewhere. I’m also not overly attached to Madrigal as to be upset by the trade any longer. I’m just relieved that I never have to watch Kimbrel blow another game in the 8th for my favourite team.
  4. Of those 5 guys Engel is not like the others, so of course he’ll get plenty of ABs. TLR wouldn’t want to be sensible or anything.
  5. None of those dudes have a ton of trade value. That doesn’t get Manaea alone. Definitely doesn’t get either of the other two let alone all three.
  6. If that were even remotely enough the deal would have been done weeks ago. Oakland laughs and hangs up the phone at that offer.
  7. The Moncada hot takes are alive and well I see. Is it Opening Day yet?!
  8. I was just trying to break up the righties. I'm not the biggest fan of Yaz batting in the middle of the lineup.
  9. I would line them up like this, but I doubt it happens. TA Moncada Robert Abreu Grandal Eloy Vaughn Pollack Harrison/Leury
  10. Even a fly out is taken nearly to the track
  11. Launch Keuchel into the sun. My gawd he’s terrible.
  12. Keuchel’s not missing any bats out there
