$25M per isn’t bad, and I’m surprised it wasn’t higher. But I’m cool letting another team pay him that for 7 years.

He was going to get paid, but his cost just wasn’t something I wanted the Sox to pay with their needs. Not upset about the lack of pursuit myself.

If Semien signs for 7/$140 you are totally right, and the back end won't be overly crippling. But I would be surprised if a $20M AAV over 7 years gets it done.
