  1. Yeah, a $20M AAV isn’t going to hamper their yearly spending even over 7 years the way $25-30M would. If $140M isn’t yet confirmed I still have hope.
  2. That’s not the terrible overpay I was hoping for.
  3. Not make stupid moves simply for the sake of making moves?
  4. Bad at 1B, worse in RF. Nice stick but that sample is size is awfully small. Gavin Sheets being on the roster should have zero bearing on offseason acquisitions.
  5. I'm still hoping DET ends up overpaying Baez.
  6. This really is looking like our best case scenario at this juncture.
  7. Watching Ray and Gausman go elsewhere on reasonable deals has me thinking that the only "big" FA signing will be RF, be it Conforto, Joc, or a dumpster dive. Pitching and 2B will be addressed via trade. And we can probably kiss Vaughn goodbye.
  8. Can't spend money if there is no one left to sign. 4 dimensional chess baby!
  9. This is true, but it's also a sorry ass excuse if that's the FO's thinking.
  10. Pretty damn deflating seeing these good deals being handed out for quality starting pitching, of which this team still needs.
  11. 18M might be too much for Rodon's injury history, but Ray's deal is similar to what they supposedly offered Wheeler. Rodon and Ray aren't in the same situation.
  12. Opt out after 3. That's not even locking yourself into long bad money.
  13. I would tend to agree. And if a $23M AAV for a front line starter is too rich we are in for a long offseason.
  14. Yeah, its deflating at this point that all of the action is happening and nary a Sox mention. Like, at all.
  15. Pretty sure one of the blue checkmark reporters tweeted essentially that teams can still talk trade after Dec 1, which was why FA was getting more attention.
