I don't know if Cannon would fare any better but what I do know is that the exaggerated twisting follow through which seems to be the "norm" today makes it almost impossible to actually field your position and as soon as the pitcher releases the ball he becomes a fielder. But I guess it's more important to throw 100MPH than 95 and actually be able to play defense. 😆

I fully expect far more offensive performances like today's than Thursday's. Once again, fundamentals lose the game. Allowing a two-out RBI and a two base wild pitch setting it up. Little things add up.

I was told by an individual that Hahn got royally pissed off when he started hearing that the Cubs were basically laughing at him for taking Eloy in the first place. They supposedly were telling other baseball people that Eloy had severe limitations.

With yesterday's tribute to Bill Melton before the broadcast it reminded me that I saw where former Sox broadcaster Bill Mercer passed away a few days ago at the age of 98. He was a broadcasting staple in Texas for decades including doing the Cowboys and Rangers when they first moved from Washington D.C. but he worked with Harry Caray on Sox broadcasts in the early 1970's. He had a good sense of humor. Had the chance to do a long interview with him in 2010. Bill didn't just do sports, he was on the scene for the JFK assassination in 1963 and was the reporter who told Oswald he was being officially charged with his murder.

According to the Awful Announcing web site, Twins fans yesterday saw the Cleveland-Kansas City broadcast for the first few minutes on their regional network/ options instead of their game and MLB.TV had technical issues all over the place yesterday.

By the way the last story tonight on the national CBS Evening News was about them winning the game and possibly offering hope after last year's disaster.

Story in the Tribune today stated that it is believed a deal has been struck BUT Comcast is waiting to finalize a deal with Marquee Network before moving both to the most expensive tier and the Sox willingness to air games for free over-the-air is still an issue.

I'm right there with you, all you can do is hope because the overall talent level is beyond bad.

A sincere wish that all Sox fans have a good season, something to be proud of again instead of constant embarrassment. Miracles sometimes happen, the 1977 "South Side Hit Men" and the 1990 "Doin' The Little Things" White Sox come to mind. I'd absolutely settle for a season like those two. As far as the organization/franchise/front office/players? I hope they are still playing meaningful games after Memorial Day. Play Ball! ⚾
