Just another game where a lack of fundamentals (fielding, base running) and a bad bullpen snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. 6th time this year the Sox took a lead into the 7th inning or later and lost the game. 3th time this year the lead was lost in the 9th inning. Leasure has personally been responsible for two of the six lost games and helped lose a third. I don't know if he has much of a future myself. Sosa already with nine errors this year which is heading into Tim Anderson territory over a full year.

He wanted to, it just never happened. Don't know how he did in his career against the Sox but I remember an August game in 1990, the Game of the Week on CBS at Comiskey Park where he gave up the game winning hit to Ozzie.

The Sox have scored three runs or less in 34 out of the 52 games played, 65%. That's actually an improvement. A few weeks ago they were at 70% total games scoring three runs or less. 65% is still really bad though.

2.7 to 3 million dollars is big money to me and I'm guessing is to you as well.

It's called ownership with a long track record to prove you not being willing to trust them is probably a very wise decision.

Another guy we had high hopes for who completely flamed out and did basically nothing but collect big money.

Good in the sense that they are saying nothing is wrong and the MRI was clean. Time will tell however as memories of Rodon, Dunning and Martin keep coming back.

It's not all on the manager and coaches, "baseball-stupid" players have some responsibility as well.

Remember TLR played Mike Squires (who is left handed) at third base and catcher multiple times.

Nice to see them win a 1-0 game for a change. Offense still is brutal though.

When you put it that way that's a valid point. Nothing really changes until ownership does, everything else is just cosmetic.

I'm guessing Perez will be done for the season and have TJS after trying to pitch in July and not succeeding.

I know what you are saying. As has been pointed out the top pitching talent appears to have regressed (big surprise right?) plus you've had six pitchers have TJS, a seventh (Gus Varland) may need it and an eight (Martin Perez) as well. Only in the world of the White Sox.

The interesting thing about JR is that years ago he said that he doesn't believe in spending on "potential" i.e. the draft, international spending et al. But at the same time he won't sign top level free agent talent. Those two realities seem to contradict each other and leave the team bereft of talent and the means to get it.
