Tim Anderson to be suspended 1 game for... language?
I’m really curious as to how MLB is gonna announce/justify it. I wonder if Joey Votto will be suspended for his “over the top” celebration last night?

Moncada- Jason Benetti's commentary during Anderson vs. Royals
My main gripe with Benetti used to be that he would ask questions too often, to the point where he was rarely ever saying anything of value. I was told by some on here that he would eventually tone that down, and sure enough, he's now asking questions at (in my opinion) more appropriate times while adding his own thoughts as well.- Early Promotions?
Players are signing these extensions right now because of the financial security they provide. A lot of these players have families (either back home, if they're originally from elsewhere, here in the states, or both) who are depending on them, so signing long-term deals now is very reassuring. Robert/Moncada and others who signed monster bonuses right off the bat don't really face this issue because they already have more than enough money to provide for both themselves and others, so they have more incentive to just play and see how much their value can increase. So to raBBit's point, the Sox are gonna want to play the service time game to guarantee 7 years of Robert since he's unlikely to agree to an extension.- 4/18 Games
Exactly. If he wanted to be taking walks right now, he would be. The competition is just such a joke that walking, in this context, has fallen way down the list of preferred outcomes.- 4/18 Games
Speak for yourself! Nice to see that BABIP begin to normalize.- Acceptable Strikeout Rate
Definitely irrelevant if OBP/OPS/wRC+/wOBA, whatever you want to use, is good. Joey Gallo, for example, has a career .822 OPS but a 38% strikeout rate. He is a valuable batter because of the good OPS.- 4/18 12:10 pm - White Sox v. Tigers (Nova v. Ross)
Well let's hope he doesn't go 0-32- 4/18 12:10 pm - White Sox v. Tigers (Nova v. Ross)
It's so nice to have Moncada in the lineup today after thinking we might be missing him for a week+ yesterday- PTC Thursday 18 April 12:10 PM CDT Chicago at Detroit
Tim Anderson. easy- The Anderson Saga (continued from game thread)
We win that game if TA and Moncada were still out there. The lineup is so much worse without them- The Anderson Saga (continued from game thread)
If my kid did anything to taunt the opponent then I would have a similar reaction to you. Simply celebrating with his teammates is fine though, I'd even encourage it.- The Anderson Saga (continued from game thread)

Where did you hear this? Awesome if true- The Anderson Saga (continued from game thread)

I'm glad he did though. I've seen literally hundreds of tweets/posts saying "Tim Anderson is now my favorite baseball player" from both baseball fans and non-baseball fans because of it. The Sox need to market the hell out of him.- 4/17 1:10 pm - White Sox v. Royals (Giolito v. Keller)
Today is, in my opinion, the best day for the White Sox in terms of positive, nationwide media coverage in years- 4/17 1:10 pm - White Sox v. Royals (Giolito v. Keller)
This has been my exact experience online today- 4/17 1:10 pm - White Sox v. Royals (Giolito v. Keller)
Exactly- in my thoughts that I linked here earlier I was trying to get at that by referring to "pitcher privilege". They can exploit defenseless hitters without facing any comparable consequences.- 4/17 1:10 pm - White Sox v. Royals (Giolito v. Keller)
Tim is awesome. So glad that he's on our team. Quickly becoming one of my favorite players ever.- 4/17 1:10 pm - White Sox v. Royals (Giolito v. Keller)
I have a lot of thoughts on today's events. It's way too much to rephrase or copy/paste, so I'll share the link: https://soxon35th.com/2019/04/17/tim-anderson-pitcher-privilege-and-unwritten-rules-baseball-must-change/- 4/17 1:10 pm - White Sox v. Royals (Giolito v. Keller)
Exactly. There is no "right way" to play baseball, and fetishizing Victorian ideals of masculinity in a sport in 2019 is going to do nothing but decrease its popularity
