  1. Doesn't make sense at all for us. He's a free agent after 2021 and isn't any more attractive as a SP than any of Rodon/Kopech/Cease/Giolito/Lopez.
  2. I guess we'd have to include cash, but if the money will be spent...
  3. I also wouldn't be surprised if he's elsewhere by August. Opens up some 1B/DH at-bats for Collins and Zavala.
  4. It's impressive that he made it to AAA. Anything past that, however, is more general ineptitude by the White Sox talent evaluation than Engel being worthy of any praise
  5. Different lineup but I like it. Leury needed the day off 1. Yoan Moncada 3B 2. Tim Anderson SS 3. Jose Abreu 1B 4. Yonder Alonso DH 5. Welington Castillo C 6. Nicky Delmonico LF 7. Ryan Cordell RF 8. Yolmer Sanchez 2B 9. Adam Engel CF
  6. They've given him 832 MLB plate appearances. That's 832 too many. They've been far from lazy with him.
  7. If I were running things, I would keep Delmonico up and send Engel down when Eloy is back. LF- Eloy CF- Garcia RF- Cordell (with the ability to slide over to CF) Bench (LF/1B/PH)- Delmonico
  8. I've never understood the people who think Engel has all this untapped potential offensively. He's the worst hitter I've ever seen, literally
  9. I'm confused as to how an R^2 value of 0.57 is somehow a good thing for their analysis, unless I'm misinterpreting why that figure was included
  10. Many thanks to Moncada and Anderson. They make this team so fun
  11. Remember after like the 2nd day of the season, there were people who literally thought the orioles were better than us?
  12. https://chicago.suntimes.com/?post_type=cst_article&p=2311296
  13. It was, but he had the take sign because Leury made an out on the first pitch of the game
  14. Between Flores/Lambert, I have more faith in the latter for this reason.
  15. Pillar used the slur in May of 2017 and got traded a couple of weeks ago. There is no correlation
  16. I agree, and I'll add that it's not even 1950s sportsmanship. It stems back to the mid-late 19th century, before the White Sox even existed. The unwritten rules were originally put in place to prevent African-Americans and women from being able to "tarnish" the game. They're even more inherently racist/sexist than most would assume.
  17. Could very well be the case. Just pointing out that .125 is comically low, even for this sample size, unless he's hitting weak choppers every AB
  18. Blake Rutherford has a BABIP of .125. Obviously I don't know about the quality of his contact but I have to assume he's about to experience some serious positive regression
