  1. They are. He didn't. He is.
  2. https://www.mlb.com/video/mlb-tonight-on-machado-yankees/c-2521274783?tid=7417714
  3. Yes, Peavy forgot to block his name out of one of the screenshots
  4. It's also the same guy that a lot of this board is currently trusting for Machado information, so who knows
  5. I thought we went over Tweet embedding!
  6. NBCS Chicago guy saying we met with Manny for 10 hours
  7. While I still think we have a better shot at signing Harper, the timing of the meeting is definitely a good thing in my eyes. If it was going extraordinarily well to the point where he wanted to sign there, I feel like he would've wanted to stay longer and find out more. My guess is that he left early because they are so far apart on terms
  8. Yet nothing came out yesterday about how well our meeting went with him. Seems like a missed opportunity to put pressure on Harper
  9. I disagree. The one single player, in this context, would absolutely affect the long-term agreement, especially if it's Harper
  10. Then wouldn't it be unwise of the Sox to formally agree to it days/weeks before the whales sign? Or does it show pessimism on their part?
  11. If Harper is truly waiting for LAD/CHC to move pieces and offer him better contracts then he's taking a huge risk. There's probably a decent chance that Machado signs with us soon, as in before the holidays, leaving Harper stuck with the Phillies who then get all the negotiating leverage in the world. In other words, while Harper is holding out to make sure he gets the most money, he may simultaneously be screwing himself over by ridding himself of his top suitor (in terms of money)
  12. .984 career Coors OPS, .787 career road OPS. I hope we stay far, far away from him for the price he'll probably require
  13. I don’t think he’s legit but maybe you’ll like this
  14. In the event that we sign Harper, I highly doubt Gonzalez, Rutherford, or maybe even Basabe are getting consistent ABs for us. Eloy-Robert-Harper would probably be the outfield
  15. When discussing a better fit, it cannot be discounted that only Harper and Collins, if he makes it, would be left handed hitters in our lineup. Obviously Machado is the better positional fit but Harper is better at balancing the lineup.
  16. And even if all this is true, I still think we have a better chance at Harper
  17. I'm just trying to figure out if you're trolling, in light of the John Twitter account and whatnot. These meetings take 5+ hours usually, it began 5 hours ago, and Levine said it would include stops around the Chicago area. I guess I'm just surprised that it would already be over given how much they seemed to have planned
  18. I'd guess that they're still meeting right now
  19. All of Fathom's pessimism has been transported
  20. Which might make more sense if independent guys like Heyman weren't also in on it
  21. Apparently he had done this over the offseason. I'd like to think this is just the Sox being incredibly cautious.
  22. So in other words he's out for one week
