  1. I noticed on the Candelario strikeout, he shook off the curve and the slider before insisting on fastball. And then he K'd him with it
  2. That pitch to Yolmer was one of the worst called strikes I've ever seen. Even worse than those on Yoan this year. If Kopech gets that pitch as a called strike, he's unhittable
  3. This called strike on Yolmer sure was something...
  4. Yup, we do this all the time (and it annoys me just as much) so I can't be mad at the Tigers.
  5. He did play 3B for LA while Turner was injured. I think that if he really gets $350 million, he'd move back. I'm sure he's also probably smart enough to understand that he's a much better defensive third baseman than he is a defensive shortstop.
  6. That's a nice thought and would be the perfect long-term scenario, but the chances of it happening are so slim that by wishing for only 3 wins the rest of the year, you kind of have to be wishing for bad months from all those key guys
  7. So, by proxy, you want Moncada, Anderson, Giolito, Rodon, Lopez, and Kopech to have awful finishes to the year. Doesn't seem too prudent to me
  8. Oh, my confusion more stemmed from the fact that I wasn't aware that picking in the top 10 would guarantee that we keep that first round pick even if we sign one of them (just Harper since Machado isn't QO eligible as you said). My bad
  9. He went 1-4 in game one of the doubleheader, I guess they just don't want to push it with him. Though I had hoped he'd DH game 2.
  10. I'm not sure I follow your first point- are you saying, hypothetically, you wouldn't want us to sign Machado or Harper because you'd rather keep the draft pick?
  11. I agree. We know what Yolmer is at this point. Might as well see what we have with Rondon. I like his swing
  12. That’s very true, but acting like Moncada has been so bad that he could be out of baseball within 3 years is still just woefully meatheaded analysis, and the type of talk that might be expected from an impatient 12 year old.
  13. Right handed Moncada comes through again!
  14. The difference is that LaMarre is just another guy, whereas Cordell is/was a prospect we traded Swarzak for, so if he's ready, we need to give him a shot while we still can
  15. .782 in August, I didn't know his July lowered it that much. Either way, he's like 26/27 and there's no reason for LaMarre to get PAs over him. Cordell might not get a shot in our organization after this season with Eloy coming, FAs next year, etc
  16. Yes, he has been pretty good since returning from injury.
  17. His power potential as a SS/3B isn't something you can teach. Yolmer, as a regular, is a net negative offensively
  18. Thanks for posting. That was a well written article, as always
  19. Also, Jose Rondon is probably a better player than Yolmer Sanchez if given similar ABs, in my opinion
  20. Nice to see Yoan with a good right handed at bat. Tim looking good too.
  21. He has 179 and a league average hitter with 519 PAs (same as Moncada) would have 115. So the answer is 64
  22. It's an irrelevant question because Moncada doesn't strike out 39% of the time, and if he did (with no improvement) then he would actually end up being a bust. His K-rate is 34%, not 39%, and it will likely decrease as he matures as a hitter.
