8/26 GT - KOPECH DAY (PART 2)!!
I think 30% might be a realistic K-rate for him next year, but I do expect a wRC+ of around 100 or better. If he's actually below 100 at this point next year without many major strides made, I'll start to worry.

The juxtaposition of hardcore anti and pro Benetti posts is always amusing

It's equally premature to call Moncada a bust

8/26 GT - KOPECH DAY (PART 2)!!
Reminds me of how the first Marlins' game after Jose Fernandez's death, Dee Gordon led off with a home run, his first and only of the season

8/26 GT - KOPECH DAY (PART 2)!!
It's a slider, his velocity on it has been down lately

Nasty slider on 0-1 to McCann.

Good pitch count too, that's my biggest surprise so far

Davidson continues to be the worst of the three headed DH trio of Palka/Delmonico/Davidson

8/26 GT - KOPECH DAY (PART 2)!!
Hey, that Yolmer AB was an instance of a strikeout being a more favorable outcome than putting the ball in play

8/26 GT - KOPECH DAY (PART 2)!!
Nice to have a guy who doesn't struggle to get swinging strikes

8/26 GT - KOPECH DAY (PART 2)!!
First strikeout for Yoan in his last 12 PAs. It was a good streak

8/26 GT - KOPECH DAY (PART 2)!!
I noticed on the Candelario strikeout, he shook off the curve and the slider before insisting on fastball. And then he K'd him with it

8/26 GT - KOPECH DAY (PART 2)!!
That pitch to Yolmer was one of the worst called strikes I've ever seen. Even worse than those on Yoan this year. If Kopech gets that pitch as a called strike, he's unhittable

8/26 GT - KOPECH DAY (PART 2)!!
This called strike on Yolmer sure was something...

8/26 GT - KOPECH DAY (PART 2)!!
Yup, we do this all the time (and it annoys me just as much) so I can't be mad at the Tigers.

The " Tank" is dead . Let there be Light !
He did play 3B for LA while Turner was injured. I think that if he really gets $350 million, he'd move back. I'm sure he's also probably smart enough to understand that he's a much better defensive third baseman than he is a defensive shortstop.

That's a nice thought and would be the perfect long-term scenario, but the chances of it happening are so slim that by wishing for only 3 wins the rest of the year, you kind of have to be wishing for bad months from all those key guys- The " Tank" is dead . Let there be Light !
So, by proxy, you want Moncada, Anderson, Giolito, Rodon, Lopez, and Kopech to have awful finishes to the year. Doesn't seem too prudent to me- The " Tank" is dead . Let there be Light !
Oh, my confusion more stemmed from the fact that I wasn't aware that picking in the top 10 would guarantee that we keep that first round pick even if we sign one of them (just Harper since Machado isn't QO eligible as you said). My bad- 8/25 Games
He went 1-4 in game one of the doubleheader, I guess they just don't want to push it with him. Though I had hoped he'd DH game 2.- The " Tank" is dead . Let there be Light !
I'm not sure I follow your first point- are you saying, hypothetically, you wouldn't want us to sign Machado or Harper because you'd rather keep the draft pick?- The "Gamethread?" Gamethread, Sox @ Detroit
I agree. We know what Yolmer is at this point. Might as well see what we have with Rondon. I like his swing - The " Tank" is dead . Let there be Light !
