  1. That's a straw man, the issue is that Giolito was trotted out to start the 7th when his night should've been over.
  2. Eh, I stand by that. We needed to see if he was actually decent and flippable. Now we know the answer.
  3. If we gave Gomez a clean start to the inning I don't think more than 1 run would've ended up scoring
  4. I thought we could flip him but at this point it's too late and he sucks
  5. Yeah, but there are honestly a dozen or so runs that he shouldn't have allowed this year because of our manager
  6. Allow a baserunner, then have him score at the hands of a reliever, adding a run to Giolito's line. It's clearly the plan because it's what happens every time.
  7. Don't get me wrong, I do too. But this is just the worst of his decisions or lack thereof IMO.
  8. I'm usually not the kind of guy (at least I like to think so) who thinks managers should be fired because of one certain situation. But the mishandling of Burr and Vieira is getting really indefensible. It's one thing to not want to expose them to high pressure spots early on. It's another thing to literally just let them rot away in the bullpen. I don't know what reasoning Ricky could possibly have.
  9. I fully expect a Gomez 7th, Minaya 8th, Santiago 9th. Prove me wrong Ricky
  10. Gomez warming up. Not even joking. This is ridiculous, he better be used in the 8th or 9th
  11. Wow, his movement on these 2 seamers is unreal
  12. Kopech, Rodon, Cease, Dunning, Giolito
  13. The metrics don't like him because he can't throw a baseball. He's great with range and speed out there but I personally like the fact that the metrics also care about his arm, as it's a good reminder that he isn't quite elite defensively
  14. I know you've since changed your stance but it's still hilarious that Tim Anderson "sucks" yet you think Eduardo Nunez is good
  15. That was my takeaway.
  16. Why are people acting like a .291 OBP and .709 OPS are a .250 OBP and .650 OPS? Average offensive production + plus defensive production + plus baserunning value = very good player, especially at shortstop. It's really not that hard to understand.
  17. Worth it. At least it isn't Shields and a bunch of vets leading us to most of these wins. With LaMarre today being an exception
  18. I sure hope he didn't bet the house again.
  19. Jose Rondon should be given a serious look at third base in September, as I think he has the chance to be better there as a starter than Yolmer.
  20. Perfect, by using Fry, Ricky has given himself an excuse to use Minaya and Gomez tomorrow instead of Burr or Vieira
  21. Davidson has just looked so lost since April. Can't wait until he's not taking ABs anymore. Honestly, Rondon should be getting his 3B/DH ABs now anyway.
