  1. Sorry to bump an old thread but Ricky today pinch hit Adam Engel (Adam Engel) for Nicky Delmonico (1-1, BB). Sure, it was a lefty, but Nicky is an even split guy when it comes to righties and lefties. No clue as to how that's a defensible managerial decision
  2. Oh go to hell Ricky. Delmonico hits lefties just fine. Engel pinch hitting is just laughable.
  3. I think he or Delmonico would be good at the 2 spot for the time being. Good OBP potential there
  4. Was a huge overpay by MIL for a couple months of a mediocre corner infielder, IMO
  5. I wonder if Hansen is gonna "walk" back to Winston-Salem!
  6. You'd think we'd know that it's 80 grade and then not run on it. Sigh
  7. September 1st is literally the worst possible time to call him up with this CBA. Either do it now or next April. I do not understand why so many are hoping for September.
  8. Do our coaches read scouting reports? You don't run on an 80 grade arm from shallow center field.
  9. I really like watching Nicky bat. One of our few guys with legit OBP skills. Great at working counts
  10. Vizquel is even worse than Renteria. I'd rather see Jirschele from Kanny
  11. Moncada has been very inconsistent since early July- a really good game followed by a really bad game. I guess I can see why some are so low on him, if they only happen to be watching the bad ones
  12. I'm sorry, as much as I want that to be the case, I have a hard time thinking that a .310 batting average could be a "conservative" projection for any prospect, even one who maximizes balls on play as much as Madrigal should.
  13. I don't see the rush in moving him to third base. Maybe if Madrigal were really flying up the chart, but as of now, Nick projects in MLB as a 2B who may offer good defense but doesn't hit for power nor get on base enough to justify moving guys over for his arrival. If he tweaks his approach to start taking walks, then it's a different discussion, but at the moment, I see a guy whose offensive game is solely reliant on singles and batting average, which could result in a deceptively ok but actually ugly .290/.315/.340 type of line.
  14. I bet you he didn't walk to Winston-Salem
  15. There are so many contradictions in that post I don't even know how to dissect it
  16. That's a welcome change from all the "he's literally awful, already just a DH" that I keep hearing here
  17. From how he's talked to reporters this season (ex: "see you in Chicago soon" a month or two ago), I don't think he cares about that, and I'd guess that the "I don't really know" was legitimate
  18. It was a good article. If he can go through a Davidson-esque patience revolution in the offseason then maybe he could be a good DH. You can't teach that exit velocity.
  19. Luckily the defensive part is an easy fix, and the stuff he does well is stuff you can't really teach. And he has looked infinitely better against lefties as the season has gone on
  20. Moncada was consensus top 3 when we got him as Tatis is now.
