Delmonico scratched from line up
QUOTE (ptatc @ Aug 25, 2017 -> 05:33 PM) They've been winning too any games. Put the hot players on the DL to stem the winning. Have you been doing NASCAR laps in your tinfoil helmet again?

Charlotte and Birmingham lost game 1 of their double headers. I'm thinking Fulmer is out of gas. Hopefully he bounces next year like Adams and Guerrero did this year.

Yankees/Tigers brawl
You can bet this isn't over. I'm sure the tigers have seen footage of the two cheap shots Sanchez took during the brawl. There was a point where Romaine had put his hand on Miggy's side for what appeared to be an effort to calm Miggy down after Miggy spoke with the ump so all looked cool between them. Sounds like Miggy was butthurt when Romaine told Miggy he wasn't f***ing talking to him. Too bad, so sad Miggy.

A Star is Born
QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Aug 22, 2017 -> 08:26 AM) Get it together people. You're talking about a 22 year old with 1100 AB's in pro baseball. Yeah but that doesn't suit the instant gratification types. Some folks just don't have patience. I don't know about you but despite the defensive growing pains I'm having a blast watching these guys. They're having fun and fun to watch. The losing sucks but I think ya know what I mean.

Off Season Trade Idea: Ryan McMahon
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Aug 22, 2017 -> 10:41 AM) Exactly. Like what would he have to trade for him exactly? I bet he's there 1B next year or in a COF spot. From a Rockies standpoint, I'd ask for Giolito in a McMahon trade. Both close in age, rank and development. That's probably a much closer proposal than Cease for McMahon.

Off Season Trade Idea: Ryan McMahon
Not a bad idea. McMahon is ranked #63 on mlb pipeline. Cease is ranked #65, I'd make that swap but I doubt the Rockies would, probably would want Giolito in return. McMahon has had a good season so I'd guess his value is a bit higher than that #63 rank.

2017 Offseason White Sox News, Notes, and Tweets thread
QUOTE (hi8is @ Aug 21, 2017 -> 04:25 PM) I saw on Chris Sale's MLB.com player profile that his nickname is now considered to be, "stickman". Lame. That is lame. A tall lanky guy like Sale would have been better off with something like Crooked Man. Condor is still the best and what I know him as.

Reverse Standings Thread
After watching Sox pitching serve up HR Derby Saturday night, I'm not worried about the Sox winning too many games the rest of the way. Anyone who is unsure should look at the current rotation and bullpen again. Let's not forget the growing pains our young players are going through which sure hasn't been helping the pitching.

8/20 White Sox v. Texas Rangers
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 20, 2017 -> 03:50 PM) How many around the shift hits does Delmomico need for them to stop shifting so much? The Rangers scouting is running on dial-up speeds due to heat.

8/20 White Sox v. Texas Rangers
Pretty cool for the Rangers to put a congrats to Hawk on the their scoreboard. Got nice round of applause from the fans too.

Griffin's mid sixties curve ball must feel like an eternity for hitters while they wait for it to get to home plate.

Giolito named starter for Tuesday
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 19, 2017 -> 09:35 PM) Dammit. Likely means I'm missing Giolito's start. That sucks. Just cancel what ever you have planned and explain Giolito is making his White Sox debut. They will understand.

Covey to be recalled
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 20, 2017 -> 07:09 AM) He is 25 years old, has a minor league track record of giving up runs and not striking many out. He helped the tank, but is horrible. He won't be on any contending team. Covey could provide help next year towards another high deaf pick in '19. Just kidding. I'm not interested in a Pirate style rebuild that takes a few decades.

Your 2018 Chicago White Sox Opening Day Lineup
QUOTE (WBWSF @ Aug 20, 2017 -> 08:38 AM) The off season starts with Hahn trading Avi Garcia and Abreu for more prospects. This will be done in the name of a rebuild. I see it as more of a salary dump to get this team to have the lowest payroll in MLB. All this translates into more profits for JR. This leaves the team with the following lineup: 1B=Gillaspie, 2B=Moncada, SS=Anderson, 3B=Davidson, LF=L. Garcia, CF=Engle, RF=Delmonico, C=Smith. Starting Rotation Rodon, Shields, Lopez and Holland. (Hahn resigns Holland thinking that he'll have a rebound year) Bullpen= The same group who are in our present bullpen. After Rodon gets off to a good start Hahn will sign him to a contract extension. After the All Star break Hahn will then trade Rodon to the Cubs for more of their prospects. Nobody ever talks about this but Hahn is a life long Cubs fan. He never attended a White Sox game in his life until he started working for them. And finally for a job well done (Last place team with the lowest payroll=enormous profits) JR will reward Hahn with another contract extension, 1- Abreu isn't going anywhere. He's worth more to the team than what the team would receive for Abreu via trade. 2- if it's about lining JR's pocket then why did JR just spend 28m on a 19 prospect? 3- Rodon's agent is Boras. Please tell me the last time a Boras client signed an extension with four years of team control left. 4- Rodon won't be traded to the cubs because that system has been tapped. What do the cubs have left to offer? 5 what does it matter if Hahn grew up a cubs fan? It has nothing to do with his job. Does every player grow up a fan of the team they play for? No. Stone spent many years in the cubs broadcast booth but I didn't hear you complain over that. Why? Because it doesn't matter. 6- if this rebuild continues its course, it's ahead of schedule. If, in a few years, we see the rebuild is a success, Hahn absolutely should get an extension.
