  1. New films coming out for 2017. John Danks: A Conspiracy Theory The LaRoche Duck Dynasty Affair David Bowie's " We Could Be Hero's " is the theme song for each movie.
  2. Whoa, slow up for just a minute. I like the idea of Bregman as much as anyone but in no way, shape or form is it a good idea to trade both Q and Frazier for Bregman. If that's what it takes to get Bregman then Houston can keep him. The Sox will find the right fit for a Quintana trade, just takes some time and patience. Same for Frazier, though we may end up waiting until July which is fine. Trading Q and Frazier in separate deals is the best way to get more talent into the Sox farm.
  3. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Dec 17, 2016 -> 03:32 PM) Abreu is a very good player. With our teams decision to rebuild I am waiting for the usual hate messages to be posted about him especially if the Sox keep him, which they should You haven't been reading the board then because nowhere have I seen any hate towards Abreu or any other ball players for that matter.
  4. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 17, 2016 -> 04:07 PM) Definitely was not intended as a personal attack, was trying to be funny. Jb shuck is a AAAA player at best and exactly the kind of player that has no business taking the opportunity away from a younger, more talented player. Don't take so much offense man. We're all good I hear ya man and I wasn't offended in the least bit. As you said, were all good. You fit right in with the rest of us clowns. Agree with ya on Shuck too. Good guy but it was time to give Tilson, May and Engel some playing time.
  5. QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Dec 17, 2016 -> 03:54 PM) I haven't heard much about Tilson's recovery, so I am hoping that this is news indicates that the Sox feel that he will be ready for the start of the season. Yep, plus the Sox have May and Engel that can be thrown into the mix as well so there wasn't any room for Shuck.
  6. QUOTE (Ro Da Don @ Dec 17, 2016 -> 03:33 PM) No. To be honest, yes I was being defensive. No, I was not being defensive for J.B. freaking Shuck. I was being defensive because I originally thought that steve was trying to come at me for sharing said information. I think Steve was just being a wise guy, that's all. I really can't fault the guy since I make wise cracks too. It's a long winter for all Baseball fans my friend. Anyhoot. Glad to see a good guy like Shuck find a team. Shuck is pretty versatile so he should find some atbats with the twins in '17. I wish the guy well. By all accounts, he's a good dude.
  7. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 16, 2016 -> 01:17 PM) Martyrtalk.com Lmao. Just realized today that your post reads Martyrtalk.com and not Martytalk.com.
  8. QUOTE (Ro Da Don @ Dec 17, 2016 -> 03:18 PM) No. I don't give a f*** if anyone cares, to be completely honest. What I do give a f*** about is every time I sign on seeing negativity/sarcasm rather than posters contributing anything of substance in threads instead of basically posting "ah who gives a s***, guy blows" or "what a loss". If you don't care, don't post. Come on dude, if you didn't give a f*** you wouldn't have said anything in the first place. You like Shuck and you're not wrong for it but those that do not like Shuck aren't wrong either. It's a message board where people are free to express their opinion's.
  9. Page 1 in a JB Shuck thread and its already gone to hell.
  10. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 17, 2016 -> 12:55 PM) Toronto would have to send the sox their best five prospects. They don't have the blue chip prospects that works interest the sox Admittedly, Toronto is a stretch but I don't think they would be too far off as long they don't consider any of their minor leaguers to be off limits. Urena, McGwire, Tellez and Vlady Jr definitely peak my interest.
  11. QUOTE (Al Lopez's Ghost @ Dec 17, 2016 -> 12:33 PM) our draft in 2016 was great. I don't look at Fulmer as a fail, certainly not Rodon either. So I don't get this attitude that the Sox will screw up the 2018 draft choice, besides which that is only a piece of the rebuild. You can't get great by half-assing the rebuild. Agree on all points Al. People need to learn patience. QUOTE (BRIRO2017 @ Dec 17, 2016 -> 12:42 PM) Why do we have to read about the damn Cubs in every thread? WHO CARES about the damn Cubs. Thank you!!! Was thinking the same thing myself. I don't give a toss what the other team has done or is doing, just what the Chicago White Sox are doing and imho they are doing just fine so far this winter.
  12. Lol, we really need some new rumors to emerge or at least some fresh ideas to speculate with. Anyone think the Blue Jays could get involved for Q? Toronto has some interesting position player prospects. Would be nice to see a power bat like Rowdy Tellez in the Sox farm system.
  13. The Sox couldn't maintain the '16 hot start with Eaton and Sale but they could in '17 without? Yeah, because years and years of "rebuilding on the fly" and " retooling" has proven to be so successful the Sox should continue that method of insanity. No matter what, stay the course and see this rebuild through. Like it or not it's happening so embrace it and enjoy the ride.
  14. Good for Shuck and even better for the Sox since there was no room for Shuck anyway.
  15. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 17, 2016 -> 11:00 AM) Er, what? Confused time traveler from Xmas future?
  16. No matter what, the plan should not change. No more half-assed rebuilds.
  17. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/12/mino...ons-121616.html What can I say, I'm desperate for some Sox news.
  18. Why not? Cause one Holland is never enough. I like the Holland idea too.
  19. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 16, 2016 -> 08:10 PM) Agreed my friend. I think it will. The Nationals wanted Ziegler, hopefully they go hard after Robertson now. Exactly. After Rizzo got skewered by the media for the Eaton haul, I kinda snicker at the thought of Rizzo trading for Robertson. Get ready for some deep fried Rizzo. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 16, 2016 -> 08:26 PM) Robertson for Stevenson and a lottery ticket works for me. I like this idea. +1
  20. Ziegler is now off the market. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/12/marl...p;post-id=80760 Hopefully this helps Robertson's market.
  21. Hero worship.

The wife and I checked out Underworld: Bloodlines last night. Not a bad movie although the ending left something to be desired. Was nice seeing Beckinsale running around whooping ass in her black pleather outfit.
  23. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 16, 2016 -> 12:39 PM) Rangers system at such an odd point in development. The team that I still go back on is the Braves. Not from a "will they" standpoint as I think their Sale interest was a starry eyed new stadium acquisition ploy, but trying to figure out much value I would put to incredibly high up side incredibly risky players like Meitan or Vlad Guerrero Jr from Blue Jays. But Albies/Meitan, does that get you in door with other teams? I just threw the Rangers out there as an ironic twist to the Astros stance on Q. Definitely not counting on the Rangers jumping in though that could change in July if Q is still in Chicago. Never bought into the rumors concerning the Braves. They have spent the last few years collecting MiLB talent for their rebuild and then factor in the one year wonders they acquired via trade and FA. No team goes out and trades for one year of Jaime Garcia as well as sign the likes of Colon/Danks/Dickey if they are contenders. Those four pitchers were brought in to buy some more time for their young pitching to further develop. I think a case can be made that they might have temporarily tossed their hat into the mix in an effort to drive the price up on their division rival Nat's.
  24. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 16, 2016 -> 11:43 AM) This poster from crawfishboxes answered a lot of my questions on why this analysis feels at odds with the market and does not address the questions well: KUDOS to him (poster Lipper34): http://www.crawfishboxes.com/2016/12/16/13...r-jose-quintana Thanks for posting that. Lipper34 does a good job of looking at the proposed trade from both sides. The writer of the article however, is disillusioned if he thinks Luhnow should wait out Hahn's asking price. The reality of the situation is that the Sox are rebuilding, have a very valuable asset in Q and do not need to trade him. The writer comes off as though the Sox NEED to trade Q and will at some point drop the price which is clearly not the case. The Astros need Q more than the Sox do so if Luhnow doesn't want to pay thats fine with me because somebody will. Go ahead Houston, wait it out because rebuilds take time and the Sox have plenty of it. Would be hilarious if the Sox ended up getting their haul for Q in July, from the Rangers.
