And Senzel was moved to second last season so the reds have plans for Senzel at second. If they don't trade Gennett by the end of ST they stash Senzel at AAA and trade Gennett by the deadline.

Yeah the rotation is nowhere near being ready to compete next season even if the Sox add a good quality starter. Rodon/Gio/Lopez need more time and Nova/Covey is still the fifth starter.. Ick! You could being Chris Sale back and he still would not be enough to make that a playoff rotation for the 2019 season.

Heyward really is a bad idea for reasons already stated. At rhis point ill take Palka over Heyward all day every day. The cubs can keep that shitty contract or continue to try and trade it to the giants.

Wood and Puig have value and the reds had to give something up for that value. Good prospects? What do we know about them? Wood and Puig were bot salary dumps since they have some trade value. Guys I don't see the problem here. For one thing it's the reds, who cares? Secondly it makes the reds better and therefore put more pressure on the rest of the NLC. Third, it's not like cinci gave up top prospects to acquire Kemp,Puig and Wood.

This isn't such a bad deal for the reds. They take on 1 year each of Puig and Kemp for 2 years of Bailey. The reds will free up money a year sooner because of this trade. Kemp and Puig upgrade their lineup and Wood is a big upgrade over Bailey. I like this trade for both teams.

If Manny wants to play for the Yanks, the Sox can't help that. If Harper wants to take his hair to sunny California , the Sox can't help that. The Sox cannot force these guys to sign with the Sox.
