  1. Jaye 5IP 3H 3BB 4K in Birmingham's 2-0 win
  2. The Sox have depth in the pen now and for 2016 so theres zero point in bringing up Fulmer this year and maybe even next. If the Sox really believe Fulmer will be a starter then keep him in the minors to get used to pitching in a five man rotation. If at some point during the 2016 season Fulmer shows he is ready then call him up. Otherwise let him get used to starting every fifth game and build up his innings. Fulmer should not be called up until he's ready, period.
  3. QUOTE (Bruce_Blixton @ Jul 13, 2015 -> 12:03 PM) It's amazing to see how much speed is currently in our system, Eddy Alvarez is 4th in SBs in the SAL, Engel is leading the Carolina League in SBs, Anderson leads the Southern League and Saladino, Leury Garcia and Micah Johnson are all in the top 10 in SBs in the International League. I can't remember a time when we've had so many burners in the minors. Yep and if not for his injury, Jacob May would be right there with Anderson.
  4. If its just one inning for Sale then its just a side session and Sale would be easily be available for Sunday's game against the Royals. I'm guessing one inning of course but one inning might be why Ventura agreed.
  5. QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 13, 2015 -> 06:06 AM) overall what a great day for the minor league teams. some of the lower level players are just plain and simple raking..... nice looking youngsters there. Definitely a breath of fresh air.
  6. Anderson 1-3 SB Delmonico 1-3 2B
  7. Trade Samardzija if the offer exceeds the value of a 2016 comp pick which imo it will. The idea of trading Samardzija is not to gain back what he was traded for but to sell high and get back something that can help this team either now or the immediate future (2016). Also trade LaRoche if a team offers something for him and get Avi off the field and over to the DH spot. Maybe becoming a full time DH will help him to soley focus on his bat. Might help, might not but I'd take the shot. I doubt Boni is worth anything in a trade but if someone wants to take his salary, that's more than enough return for me. Otherwise DFA Boni and move on.
  8. Trayce 1-2 BB Micah 2-3 R 2B 2SB Carroll 4 scoreless innings Kanny whooped ass. Adams 5.2 5H 1ER 2K
  9. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 12:10 PM) Sorry mi amigo you have had your share of "feels" the last 2 games. The best you can get today is maybe a Sox win but not a Q win , If you get both the its time to buy a very good bat and let the good times roll. But a Sox win is what's really important.
  10. Pirates are looking for OF bench bats. Wonder if the Sox could talk them into Boni since Boni's style of play fits the NL. Could help the Pirates on the infield while Harrison is down. Boni would cost less to acquire than Revere or Francour. Not something I'm counting on, just throwing it out there. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/07/pira...-francoeur.html
  11. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 11:48 AM) Change your avatar to something Sox related or your curse will continue, if not, stay home . You and the curse of the Q together vs the Cubs will result in a disaster of epic proportions ! Well aren't you just bright Ray of sunshine! Seriously though, I've had a good feeling about this series since I woke up Friday morning and still feel good about about it. Sox bats will show up like they did yesterday.
  12. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 11:37 AM) Of course I hate what they're actually doing. Samardzija, Danks on Friday Quintana on Saturday Sale or Rodon Sunday (TBD) Can't say I'm a fan of it either but I understand why. Sale pitching Sunday gives him a few extra days rest so I'd go Sale on Sunday which gives Rodon's blister an extra day of rest.

  14. I'm taking the over for dinger fest. Melky with a solo shot and LaRoche with a 2R shot.
  15. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 09:41 AM)
  16. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 09:09 AM) Speed? It doesn't even use it well. He should have been called out on Friday, when anyone who knows how to slide would have been safe easily. I said he has speed but did not say he used it well.
  17. Uh oh, there was a Noesi siting last night for 2 innings, lol.
  18. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 07:50 AM) Bonifacio clearly should be dropped. He hasn't played much in 2 months. Gillespie can actually hit a little. Bonifacio isn't even a particularly good runner. Yep. Bonafacio's .151 BA and questionable D bring nothing except for speed. Conor brings a LH bat with a little pop and could serve well to PH late in games. Beckham brings Defense, a little pop with a RH bat. The Sox already have Shuck as the 4th OF who plays nice D and has some pop. Boni is the odd man out. If the Sox need speed, Leury is just a call up away. Bye bye Boni.
  19. Trayce Thompson added 2BB's to his totals Zangari HR
  20. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 07:34 PM) If Saladino is here to stay, it'll be interesting to see who's dropped Just my opinion but I hope it's Boni. Outside of speed he brings nothing.
  21. Trayce Thompson 2-3 2B Megan Smith 3-3 Drabek looking good through 6
  22. For my fellow Sox fans. Who remembers this one?
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 06:53 PM) F*** the Cubs and no matter how I feel about this team *$*$ the Cubs *$*$ them $*$* them again. Thanks Chris and strike out everyone on Tuesday. f*** yeah! QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 07:02 PM) Is beating the Cubs fun, or what? Indeed! Especially with the roller coaster this season has been so far. Sox offense is going to need to show up tomorrow against Arrieta. But that's tomorrow, today I am enjoying this win.
  24. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 06:45 PM) 100% agree. Have been very impressed so far. He may not have a ton of upside, but his defense & speed provide a nice floor at a position that is a huge weakness for us right now. I hope they give him a longer look than just this series against the Cubs. Worst case scenario, he's a valuable bench player who help against LHP. Heck yeah! IIRC, the front office was bummed out when they found out he needed TJ surgery so maybe there's something there.
  25. QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 06:38 PM) agreed big time. I believe also that this is the series that says it all. 1) KC tough team for us to beat. 2) in our division where our record is NOT very good 3) It not only closes the gap on KC and the wild card, but also shows the front office that we can beat someone tough in our division when the status of this team is on the line to everything you say here. Spot on.
