Sox and Sawks to see if the Price is Right
Sox and a Prayer replied to fathom's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It would be! I mean the way it was described by Chuck was Kenny and Rick discussing this big offer at dinner ( which had happened half of the winter meetings or whatever he said) but everyone knows the bosox are trying to move Price. I don't think that would be a lot to mull over. But Sale coming back?????? -
Crap!!!!! Really hoping that we could grab him

Just had a question, what if Madrigal isn't ready out of spring training and is delayed 2 or 3 months -- who's our second baseman? Leury? Mendick? FA? -

Alright. It is what it is. So where is Ricky putting Mazara in the lineup? With Robert, Madrigal, and Grandal we will be more dangerous than last year. -
You are right about that. There were a few guys with untapped potential on the 05 team and broke out that year.

Dallas Keuchel (discussion)...come on down!

No, what would really make this board shutter? is if we were the high bidder and he chose the Cubs instead. -
Sox in on Marcell Ozuna? I mean, maybe. Or not.

I hope so too! I love this time of year. Everytime I get a yahoo sports update or bleacher report updates across my phone I start thinking that the Sox have made a move! -

Yes I was speaking in baseball context. But yes I have been to a lot of cities. I have traveled quite a bit over the last 30 years. I may be a little biased but I do think Chicago can hold its own to other cities. -

I'm starting to warm up to the idea of Ozuna to the Sox - if true. Now that being said, Is he my first choice? No. Is he a perfect fit in right field? No. Not really sure there is a perfect fit this year. My first choice is trading for Pederson. I think he's a dangerous bat, a left handed bat. I think he's a good fielder. But, I'm not a fan of trading away prospects for a one year rental. That's the problem with Joc. But Ozuna can also hit and is a dangerous bat in the lineup. Can he play in right field? Probably not. But better than some of the guys we put out there last year. He is only 2 years removed from a gold glove in left field. One other interesting thing, I thought I read somewhere that he is Pablo Ozuna's cousin. Our 2005 WS Champ Pablo Ozuna. So there's that. -

He could be flying after the event. Did the original post from this DR reporter say he was flying to Chicago or to the states? Hahn and company will be flying to the winter meetings tomorrow. -

Screw Schins. No city is better than Chicago in the summer. He's just trying to get Soxtalk all riled up -

Yeah I also agree with what you're saying. These guys in the DR - Gomez, and this reporter really seem to know something and are willing to stand by it. Also agree with Fathom and the list of guys to believe on twitter. I would also add rabbit and bucket or whatever he calls himself these days. -

I just can't get excited about Ozuna. I mean am I wrong? Can someone talk me into this? -
FA SP: What to do after the Wheeler miss?
Sox and a Prayer replied to Jack Parkman's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I mean I know this is fantasy but why would the dbacks want to do this? They've got to be thinking like us right? - second baseman are plentiful and easier to replace than pitching -

Regardless of the stone pony's opinions, I do think the Sox are going to be busier than usual at this year's winter meetings. -

I really haven't seen where we are. Some national guys assume we are since we lost out on wheeler. My question is if we're serious on Gallen (which I like alot) where would he pitch in our rotation? And then do they still go after another FA starter? -

I will say this, the Whitesox are kicking all the tires looking for their right fielder- as they should. -
Interesting that 3 of the 4 teams are from the American league central.
-
I totally agree with this. Either Castollanos or Joc. Maybe even some other controllable candidate that we will have to trade for. But the Sox could put together a dangerous lineup with the right person in rf.
