  1. So Avila is starting? Naw. Can't be with his injuries last season. Something else is cooking
  2. Michael Irvin ruins the highlight shows and sometimes preview shows with his blatant BS bias.
  3. 35 year old Zobrist to a 4 year $60+mm deal? Nah I'm good. Pass.
  4. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 09:07 PM) I too would love Pollack, but if his value is really that high I'll pass on 1:1 just because of how many holes we need to fill. Trading Q for just 1 hitter would be a failure in my book. If we could get 2 of Peralta/Inciatre and Lamb/Drury I'd be pretty happy though. 1 of each seems to be expendable for the Dbacks with no DH and a need for their expensive investment Tomas to get on the field. Dbacks have a few other interesting guys that seem expendable to them as well. I'm hoping we can get a deal done with them. I sort of agree, but the main piece needs to be an impact bat. If Q is dealt, it's going to be a big trade.
  5. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 08:46 PM) Thanks for letting know SouthSideSale. I find it difficult to believe the Sox are merely looking to upgrade 3B. They have something up their sleeves. I still like a CarGo trade and Lawrie. Think those are our two most realistic outcomes.
  6. Ok. They broke down our splash last offseason. Talked about bounce backs that will help from guys like LaRoche, and Melky. They talked about then if ya get bounce backs, maybe add some pieces and we could be competitive in the central. They interviewed Dan Hayes. Talked about SS and 3B. Sounds like it's Saladino at SS to bridge the gap Talked about maybe moving pieces for a 3B. Maybe Quintana but said the usual "small army of hitters" in return. Talked about Sale and trade, but said probably hold on to him. Plesac brought that up. Just thought if anyone was interested to let ya know. For me, we need to be aggressive again. I don't want to waste the careers of Sale, Q and Abreu. Hopefully we make some moves and get back on track. We're due some good fortune sooner rather later I'd think lol.
  7. There's a segment on the sox on MLB tonight right now
  8. QUOTE (Dunt @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 08:27 PM) Q is a much better pitcher than Miller, I think a 1:1 swap would be pretty close. Would love Pollock. I agree and that's why I think it's something to keep an eye on.
  9. This isn't sox related but if you're thinking about Quintana for Pollock from Arizona. Just a little bit of info on him. Thought it was interesting because he's a guy I'd target trading Quintana for. FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Braves "keep trying" to trade for A.J. Pollock. Rosenthal says they offered Shelby Miller for Pollock, which was rejected, and then their counter of Miller and Arodys Vizcaino for Pollock and Aaron Blair was also rejected. It's difficult to see why the D'Backs would be willing to trade Pollock, as they are aiming to contend in 2016 and the center fielder is coming off a breakout season. Pollock is under team control through 2018 and general manager Dave Stewart revealed earlier this offseason that he's discussed a possible extension with the outfielder's agent. 10. Interesting that beginning the day he was thinking he was going to STL for 7/185. Dombrowski is going for it as usual.
  11. Invite to spring training only.
  12. Boston is already regretting Hanley and Panda deals. They will regret this in a couple seasons also.
  13. Cubs tears are so sweet. I know their fans are s***ting themselves. No Price, Grienke or Zimmerman. Could work out well for them though.
  14. I was just sure he'd go to Joe Maddon. Lol money talks bs walks as always
  15. QUOTE (bruni @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 09:16 AM) Understood, and I was not clear above. The WSox front office should have been aware of the pending release - the Blue Jays got zip for releasing him. Certainly they would have been pleased to add our 30th best prospect for him or something of that nature. Instead we will need to pay plenty for Freese, take a chance on a Korean player or trade multiple prospects for Lawrie. Seems like a cheaper, more effective alternative was out there last summer but we missed it. Ah..ok.
  16. QUOTE (bruni @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 08:48 AM) The real shame is that our asleep at the wheel front office failed to anticipate the release of Valencia from the Blue Jays last summer. He would have been a serviceable stop gap for 2 years until Michalczewski was ready (assuming he realizes his potential - eye roll, I know). Instead we will likely overpay for Lawrie or spend our limited budget on Freese. Either way, this team continues to tread water and get lapped by others in its own division, while wasting it's few upper tier talents. The As were higher on waiver priority IIRC
  17. Lol no thanks. Let some other team deal with this headache.
  18. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 30, 2015 -> 05:19 PM) Honestly I think the league has just made it impossible to officiate. They could increase training or incentives but until they simplify their rule book stupid stuff is going to happen. With the media focused on them so heavily it's getting harder and harder for sure.
  19. If, big if, we emptied the farm system it better be for an impact bat to hit behind Abreu.
  20. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Nov 30, 2015 -> 01:24 PM) Karma's a b****, ain't it Tom? Looks like all the cheating is catching up to him. Meh, they've been getting f***ed lately. Nice to see, but they still win so it's likely all for naught. The officiating the past few weeks has been nothing short of horrendous.
  21. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 29, 2015 -> 04:34 PM) Rex Ryan not challenging that catch in the 4th quarter with 3 minutes left was idiotic. That was a crazy game to watch. I thought my Chiefs were f***ed down 10-0. Alex usually folds, but yesterday he was slinging it with confidence and played like a top 15 QB he should be. We're so beat up right now. Pulling ruining backs out of our asses. Rex Ryan is also an idiot. He challenged a play earlier that cost them a timeout and challenge. Then misses like 2 challenges that would've went against KC. His teams are also undisciplined dumbasses. They commit a ton of penalties.
  22. Eh I like Frazier but at what cost? They want the house and I'm not giving it up for him. Would rather get Lawrie and save the prospects. We probably could get Lawrie and Cargo for less than Frazier.
