QUOTE (harkness @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 06:42 PM) anyone know where you can find the stats for players getting the runner in from 3rd and less then 2 outs? They have graphics in the game but I can't find it anywhere. I'll save ya some trouble. They stink. -
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 9, 2015 -> 11:28 PM) I didn't even notice that Rondon is in AAA. Ooof. Talk about do or die. I didn't notice that til the other day. Then again it just happened

QUOTE (danman31 @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 12:11 AM) I assume Rondon's AAA stint will be shortlived, although I wouldn't mind them putting him into a utility role maybe next year. If his glove is as good as advertised he could be a nice bench guy. Wouldn't hurt to see if he can handle the mentality that requires though. Especially with his weak bat. Not worried about him losing regular ABs

We stood pat. We definitely were not buyers. We didn't buy anything. Should've traded shark a month ago if the package was good.

As far as the Melk-ster ... I don't remember Melky being this clown-ish before the Royals series. Maybe he was yukking it up with his former teammates more than usual. But it did piss me off. It seems like you need to concentrate more. Maybe he is concentrating since he did lash the game-tying hit. Maybe he concentrates at the plate then acts buffoon-ish only when he is safely on first or second or third. I'll probably get over that, but since the Royals announcers brought it up (I had to listen to them on radio since I had some work to do) as clownish it even made me more mad than normal. I get it. He was doing this s*** before this series. I haven't watched a lot this season but starting with the Cleveland series, I've been watching. He was clowning around a lot then too. If you're playing well I don't mind too much. These guys do it. Watch Miggy.

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Aug 9, 2015 -> 09:38 PM) I wonder how much better AAA is than AA. AAA is replete with org. guys. Charlotte has maybe 3 real Sox prospects on its roster. I guess the org guys are better than the average AA fodder. Eddie Alvarez is a monster. I'm not real familiar with how different each level is so someone will correct me. But I'm guessing there's a bit of a gap with AAA because you have some vets there, guys repeating it and top prospects up there. Just my two cents.

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Aug 9, 2015 -> 09:07 PM) I wouldn't mind bumping up Alvarez and Anderson each up a level, and let Rondon go back to A+. They could get a couple weeks taste of the new level and make adjustments in the off season as needed. Yup. I want to see Tim at AAA to get taste for next season.

Reading this part of the forum has me excited. We have some good options in the minors. Hope they continue to do well. Some well stay and some will be moved for a bat in the offseason maybe.
-
Anderson going to AAA soon? Or finishing at AA?

QUOTE (scs787 @ Aug 9, 2015 -> 07:26 PM) Man greg, for someone who calls Danks a good a** pitcher it sure is silly to say Shark is MAYBE an above average pitcher. Most hear know I love Danks too, so don't get me twisted. Danks is good 66% of the time whereas Shark is good 75% of time (just throwing random numbers out there). If you think Jeff is maybe slightly above average then there's no way you should think Danks is anything more than average. Your obsession with Melky's clown like behavior is also silly to me. Look at the teams like KC, San Fran, the Boston team that won the WS, Detroit with Miggy others. They all had fun and "Acted like clowns". That's huge to me, baseball is a longgggg grind, if you're not having fun out there, you're doing it wrong. Gimme a manager who is gonna keep players loose. That's all I care about. Let the hitting coach deal with the hitting and the pitching coach deal with the pitching. The only gripe i have with Robin is the long rope he has given LaRoach. I kinda get it because if he ever gets hot he can carry a team but it just doesn't look like its gonna happen It's a new generation of baseball. These guys chat and have fun. I don't have an issue as long as he's producing.

This whole coaching staff needs blown up. Fresh blood time.

This organization is fine financially. This is a business and one if its leader is clueless. He needs to be fired.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 9, 2015 -> 03:44 PM) Yes he did. Lol. So much fail in that.

The best thing for this team would KW leaving at this point so we can see what Hahn really is. This FO needs to get its s*** together and fast.
-
Lol at this team. Sickening.

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 9, 2015 -> 12:49 PM) Doubt we see near the activity that we did last offseason We better have activity. We need an impact bat bad.
-
Guess we're just going to keep getting swept along. This season can't end fast enough for the offseason.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 9, 2015 -> 12:04 AM) Jose is special, but some of the other guys you mention are OK but can't hit. Saladino won't hit for much in the bigs and Sanchez isn't a big league hitter. It'd be nice to get rid of Lexi and use his salary on other needs. Rodon is good but has a long long way to go to be consistent IMO. We need to bring up Johnson and see what he's got. Might as well rest Sale the rest of the season and put Johnson in there IMO. Or give Sale one start every 2 weeks and pitch Johnson a lot more. I truly think Saladino and Sanchez are not the answer. Good gloves, though. Sanchez has been hitting lately and Micah needs polishing on his defense. He's a liability up here.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 9, 2015 -> 12:09 AM) I didn't want to start a negative thread so I'll bring it up here about Robin/Melky/LaRoche. Should Robin or Jerry talk to Melky about not being a clown and LaRoche about shaving? LaRoche looks like an idiot with that shaggy beard IMO. He did hit a bomb on Friday but aside from that has been an utter failure as a Sox. Melky gets on base and bear-hugs the first baseman; then he goes to second and bear-hugs the second baseman. He starts yapping into the Sox dugout and does it a long time. Just for getting a hit. I mean if LaRoche has to have the beard, fine. But Melky is disrespecting the game. He's saying "look at me" all the time. I mean, Melky, the reason they are paying you zillions of dollars is they thought you'd help win games and get the team in the playoffs. The clown behavior has to stop at some point. It reflects poorly on Robin. We need a tighter ship, folks and that means Gardenhire! Melky is the least of our issues. LaRoche needs to kindly go f*** off and disappear into the mountains somewhere where he belongs.
