QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 4, 2014 -> 10:41 AM) Agreed. I'm shocked teams are actually still interested in Dayan. It's like they haven't watched him the last few months. Has to be because of his age and upside

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jul 2, 2014 -> 08:47 PM) So without further adieu...... The Jim Thome Effect- .315 avg, 5 HR, 5 2B, 11 RBI, 7 BB, 12 K in 15 games. The K's are down, the walks are up, the power is up. Bless Jim Thome!

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 3, 2014 -> 05:17 PM) The Bleacher Report list also left Sale off (but included Abreu and Alexei [ESPN predicts Abreu won't make it]), so I was about to write a "Sale should be here" comment. Then I looked at the top three comments, all of which called for Sale's inclusion and talked about how underrated he is. These were non-Sox fans, too. If Abreu didn't make the all star team I won't watch. There's no way he's left off. I can see Sale because he's missed a month.

Honestly expect Viciedo, Beckham, Danks gone. Well see about Ramirez because he has some good value and is under contract.

QUOTE (southside hitman @ Jul 2, 2014 -> 12:33 PM) MLB.com ranked Nunez #26 and Alfaro #28. Never heard of the other two. Nunez is said to have a high offensive upside, may move to 3B. Alfaro is said to be a fairly advanced defensive catcher and his bat will need to catch up. So.....Nunez? He got them most money. Thanks! I will read up on them tonight

Haven't followed. On a lunch break so I'll check out these guys later. Is this a good haul? Which one is the best?

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 30, 2014 -> 07:48 AM) Trade Winds thread was closed. No Catch All Thread. I guess I'll dump this here. Jon Heyman was on with Mully and Abbatacola this morning. He was talking about how he wasn't sure if the White Sox would be sellers because they are only 5.5 back of the 2nd wildcard. He mentioned that teams would be interested in Beckham, Ramirez, Dunn, and Danks. I can't see Rick Hahn standing pat if there's a deal to be made. The Sox have a real chance here to set themselves up nicely for 2015 and 2016. I hope they do the right thing and sell. The White Sox have a better chance at a top 5 pick than they do a playoff berth in my opinion. Thanks for the info. I agree. I think we will trade at least Beckham and Ramirez

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jun 30, 2014 -> 02:16 AM) I can not stand mediocrity. I know we all went over this topic last season around this time as well, but I would rather this team tank the rest of the way, or dominate the rest of the way. I don't want to see a midround draft pick next June. Were a sub .500 team. We are what we are. I would like to lose and get a top pick again. But we need to build a winning culture, so I won't argue against wins.

Garcia still hoping to return this season

Were sellers no matter what. Unless this team catches fire and wins 16 of 20 and stays red hot then maybe we wouldn't be but I want to move Beckham, Viciedo, Dunn and Danks -

QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 29, 2014 -> 11:02 PM) The surgery was on his non-throwing shoulder I thought. The fractured would have healed a long time ago and he would be farther behind if they thought it would impact the repair. The problem he will have is that the left shoulder will need to go from a fully horizontallly flexed position (across his body) to a horizontally extended position (away from his body). So he will extend the full range of the capsule and "grind" on the labrum. The repair will need to be tight enough for support and loose enough for the range. It will also depend on the extent of the damage to the long head of the biceps tendon and what they needed to do there. Overall,if it's healed and has the full range, which I'm assuming he does as they are going to let him hit, as soon as the strength returns he should be good to go. It will just depnds on when it will be strong enough to handle the violent motion of the swing. Very interesting. Thanks for the info and input. I saw him cooling off Abreu with a towel the other night and thought easy on the shoulder Avi lol. -

Didn't watch much of this series. Great that we won. Seemed all doom and gloom Thursday after shutout. Nice 3 game win streak. Keep it going fellas!

Who do you most want to keep after the Core 4?

I'm not trading Q. No way. We NEED pitching. Trading him only makes it worse. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 29, 2014 -> 09:54 AM) It seems like there's a good chance the Tigers will be willing to offer Martinez a qualifying offer, so at the least signing Martinez would send our 2nd round pick next year to Detroit if that happens. Possibly our first round pick if we stumble into a few wins. I think we should make plans to look at people other than VMart. I understand and tend to agree but, he's a very very good hitter. Would be great behind Abreu.

Win today and 3-1 in Toronto. Wow!

Our lineup needs to include Abreu, Garcia, Eaton, Gillaspie. I hope we sign Victor to DH. Then Micah at 2B, Semien SS. (If they progress). I'd be ok with keeping Alexei one more year but if his value is peaked and we can get a good deal make it. Find a catcher, LF.
