QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 04:57 PM) He didnt throw cold water on the though atleast. Sounds like last minute offers may be in play Oh they'll be talking until the deadline. Hahn's not going to give them away. So, if they're not dealt I'll be bummed but pissed. I don't want DD fleecing Hahn for one of our stud SPs.

QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 04:23 PM) This guy has been all over the map the last few days. Brian is the only one I wait for actual inside news on here. I pay attention to a few things. Seems the info he gets is about call ups i.e. Anderson, Fulmer, Tilson. I'm still holding onto optimism that things are heating up now and we'll hear something before bed time or into the night.

Melky is better than Jay Bruce. Can't believe teams that want Bruce aren't calling about Melky who is a better pure hitter and is a switch hitter. Doesn't have his power but makes up for it with contract, average and OBP. Color me shocked

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 04:06 PM) I'll be honest, I will never abandon the White Sox. They will always be my passion, first and foremost. Having said that, if they try retooling it again, I'll be taking a long f***ing break. I won't be supporting this team with my money or time until changes are made. And I'm fully aware that will have no impact on their decision-making, but I can't sit by year after year as this organization continues to f***-up and continue to support this product. I really hope I'm wrong and they make some big trades by tomorrow or at the very least in the offseason. Going for it once again in 2017 is a big f*** you to our entire fanbase. I'm right there with you. Wasting more years of Sale and Q will make me take a break from this team.

This trade would come together quickly if it happened. I'm sure Hahn told them what they want. If they meet it, he's a Red Sox. If not, he's staying in Chicago.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 02:57 PM) Amazing to me how a contender doesnt want a Melky Cabrera on their team. Dude can hit That's what I said last night. Astonishing.

Seeing the returns the Yankees got make me jealous. But then again Hahn isn't a good GM

White sox have been fairly quiet about moves lately. We'll see if anything breaks before tomorrow or heats up.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 10:00 AM) Trust me, if the Yankees are pursuing Sale, the Red Sox will certainly hear about it from Hahn. And now that the Yankees have the actual pieces to get a deal done, it will actually mean something to them. Hahn has some real leverage here. Oh I agree

White Sox trade Zach Duke to the STL Cardinals

QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 10:23 AM) It's probably a bad move unless something big is going to happen. Has to be. Just moving Duke would be stupid. -
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 09:48 AM) I'm not a major league scout, but Frazier looks legit. Thrown in three more top 50 prospects, all whom are postion players and it's a good starting point. I'd want some arms too, and probably would require Justus Sheffield. IMO, that's a really nice offer. Not as good as one headlined by Moncada & Benintendi, but far better than what most clubs could offer. It certainly would be intriguing to see what Boston would do if they found out the Yankees were aggressively pursuing Sale.

Let Tilson lead off. Seems that's what he is. Move Eaton to the 2 hole where he excelled and allows us to move Anderson down the order. For now, put him in the outfield over Shuck. -
I don't want the Yankees package. I want them as leverage for Boston.

White Sox trade Zach Duke to the STL Cardinals
Bigsoxhurt35 replied to flavum's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (infohawk @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 09:07 AM) What stands out for me is that Tilson appears to have some on-base skills. He has an above average .OBP and can draw some walks. The Sox need more consistent .OBP throughout the line-up for a more consistent offensive attack. Additionally, sounds like he has the potential to play slightly above average defense. Not a bad return for Duke. They seem to be moving more towards OBP oriented. -
White Sox trade Zach Duke to the STL Cardinals

Eh I'm not sure you couldn't gotten a better deal for him. He's certainly not Andrew Miller. I like this move. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 08:58 AM) It doesn't look like they liked him as much as Keenyn Walker. Maybe a decent 4th OF is a real nice return for Duke. But as I posted before and has been posted a couple times since, there really is no reason to make this trade right now unless something big is going to happen. LH relief is needed. Relief is needed. He doesn't make a ton of money, and the prospect coming back isn't overwhelming. Some dominoes are going to fall. I agree. Seems like a prelude to bigger deal or more deals. -
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 08:35 AM) Are the Yankees prospects that much better then Red Sox now? I'm not sure but they're stacked for a Sale trade but it also would force a bidding war between them IMO

Lucroy vetoed the trade wow!!

I think it's a good get for a guy like Duke. -

@whitesox OFFICIAL: The #WhiteSox have acquired OF Charlie Tilson from St. Louis in exchange for LHP Zach Duke. "Charlie is a LH hitting outfielder whose speed and defensive ability enable him to do a number of things well." -- Rick Hahn Tilson is hitting .282 with 16 2B, eight 3B, four HR, 34 RBI, 15 SB and a .345 on-base percentage over 100 games with AAA Memphis this year. -
Take notes Sox. The Indians have executed what we should've done. Oh well. Your move DD
-
The Yankees have talked to the Sox about Sale multiple times. This will start a Red Sox Yankees bidding war watch. I'll bet on it.
-
Wow. Sale could be a Yankee soon IMO. They have been talking about sale and now have loaded up on prospects to do it
-
De La Cruz with a nice outing. 5 IP 3 H 9 Ks 0 BB for the DSL White Sox

QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 12:07 AM) I agree. Also agreed about going the complete rebuild route, but I don't see it happening. I don't either. Not with this owner nor do I completely trust this front office to do so.
