QUOTE (StrykerSox @ Aug 2, 2016 -> 07:35 PM) It's cool. Hawk says Tyler's the smartest player on the team. We can love him mindlessly even if he destroys opportunities and can't hit. You take Hawk seriously? Because I don't.

Awful base running Saladino

Make these f***s pay. Come on Tim

QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Aug 2, 2016 -> 06:46 PM) Agreed on both counts. Even after Big Poopie retires, the Red Sox will still have a ton of offensive talent, and I don't foresee DD wanting to rely heavily on Porcello. Price has been iffy in the recent past as well. I think that one of the "B" outfielders ends up in Chicago. I still see the Sox dealing Sale instead of Q, but perhaps I'll be proven wrong. Both pitchers could be gone, but I think Sale for sure. Just my gut feeling. I think Boston will pony up the money.

QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Aug 2, 2016 -> 05:20 PM) I thought that this web site was for the purpose of serious baseball discussion, not childish emotional incontinence. But apparently I was wrong about that. This isn't a serious baseball team, therefore won't be serious discussion lol

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Aug 2, 2016 -> 07:16 PM) You want Tim to be refined when he comes up. He's very raw and swings at everything. Tim's future should be a super star. Saladino is a good player but he's no superstar. There you go mr apple to oranges. They rush their prospects. What did you expect? Tim's held his own up here though. Ya he could be refining his game at AAA.

Come on Timmy. Show us what this trio's potential could be

No Hawk, I don't want Kansas City specials. I want to see someone who can hit.

Nice contact for the base hit. Good to see Miggy congratulate him. He really matured well.

Tilson's first AB coming up...

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Aug 2, 2016 -> 06:31 PM) they suck bro. wtf is your problem? Every single time I un ignore one of your posts you're trolling and I immediately regret it. here, let me spell it out for you: AVI GARCIA AND CARLOS SANCHEZ BOTH f***ING. god forbid I'd like to give younger players a shot rather than bringing in endless veteran retreads or never will be anythings like Micah f***ing Johnson and JB Shuck. Guess what? BOTH AVI AND SANCHEZ, WHO COULD HAVE GIVEN THE SOX YOUNG COST CONTROLLED 2-4 WAR PlAY, ARE BELOW REPLACEMENT! THE CORNERSTONE OF THE PEAVY TRADE IS NOTHING! YEA HIGH FIVE ME BRUH! AWESOME! f*** this entire org right now. it's pathetic. People here in Seattle are pissed off well at least they made more than one f***ing move. Agreed. There's just not enough accountability and a sense of urgency here. This owner seems complacent with being mired in mediocrity.

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Aug 2, 2016 -> 06:19 PM) That doesn't seem to happen in this organization. That's why I said I'm not sure. I have zero faith in this organization's ability to develop hitters.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Aug 2, 2016 -> 06:05 PM) He isn't a savior to me but he is a new face and if he is good he could be a starter next year. This. He isn't Andrew Benintendi. That would be who we'd consider a "savior" so-to-speak. What he can do is go get the baseball, make contact and get on base. Can his bat develop? I'm not sure because I haven't seen him nor followed his minor league progress.

QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Aug 2, 2016 -> 05:40 PM) I don't see how Betts and Bradley are all that different in value. Betts is younger than Bradley and can also play CF. If Dombrowski isn't willing to give up his two best prospects in a deal for Sale, I think that one of the "B" outfielders needs to be part of the package. If DD isn't amenable to either of those scenarios, I don't see how trading Sale to the Red Sox benefits the White Sox. I've always thought that this trade is a lot more doable in the off-season and honestly, I think Sale will be traded to Boston sometime this winter meetings. I think Boston will fall apart due to their pitching and cave for Sale. What will it be? Not sure.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 2, 2016 -> 05:31 PM) The White Sox are pretty lucky to have anyone left to tell other fans how to act/behave. The Score guys were doing the exact same thing yesterday afternoon....everyone questioning the front office or ownership was told quite bluntly...why be a fan of that team if it bothers you so much or you don't trust them to make the right decisions? Well, that leads to the whole point of fandom...none of us started following the White Sox franchise because of the ownership group or GM, it's because of the uniform itself, and the players who wear that jersey. So I'll have to disagree on that point, that just because you don't believe in the front office or JR means you have to stop being a fan of the team itself. That's pretty much ridiculous. It's silly honestly. It's a fan's choice to complain if something is wrong with their team. If someone's b****ing on here, I let them go. Vent if ya need to vent. As long as they're not attacking people and acting ridiculous it's fine IMO.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 2, 2016 -> 05:09 PM) Honestly, it feels like they didn't do anything at the trade deadline because neither Williams nor Hahn will man up and take responsibility for the failure of the last two offseasons. Probably both were scrambling around to stake out the opposite position of the other, and neither wanted to go to JR, so pretty much nothing got done. Surprise!!! It doesn't make any sense not to have gotten together a MONTH AGO and started trading assets like Robertson, Cabrera and Frazier. If this front office could only for ONCE get on the same freaking page and go to JR collectively and tell him they screwed up and the only way out of it is to do XYZ, then there would at least be a glimmer of hope. Then JR can decide whether to keep both of them or fire both of them. Instead, it's like Ozzie vs. KW where it feels like they're positioning for one to survive the other and have total control. In the offseason, we can get Betts or Bradley, Jr., or Bogaerts for Sale. Great. The team is in exactly the same position it was...unless Rodon or Fulmer decide to impersonate Cy Young contenders. We needed to make the kind of move that would bring in 2-3 potential starters offensively...or 2-3 future starting pitchers, like the proposed trade with the Dodgers. This was the PERFECT time to strike like the Yankees did and load up on prospects who will be coming up in 2017-18 and no later than 2019. Even the Pirates sold off, because they know they have the core in place (other than McCutcheon) for the next 3-4 years and won't gamble it all for another wild card game. Brewers, Padres, everyone ended up looking better than us. But excellent, we have another outfield version of Carlos Sanchez or Micah Johnson to entertain us for the next couple of months in Tilson. And we get to see how Dan Jennings does in high leverage situations. Oh, boy. I'm just choosing to believe they're gona pick a direction and go with it. I think they're gona rebuild. I'm hoping that's what it is. If it's another half assed off-season, I'll just quit watching and b****ing on a message board.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 2, 2016 -> 05:36 PM) Lol...I love that the Cardinals' 12th rated prospect is now our savior. The sad part is there isn't much else to get excited about. This team is painful to watch outside of a handful of players. Agreed. Why care if they don't care enough to replace the manager when it's clear he's in over his head?
-
Keep on losing. Want there to be no foolery in regards to what this team should be and that is sellers in the offseason.

It's that time of year again...2016 edition

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Aug 2, 2016 -> 02:13 PM) Too small of sample size for me to include either one of them yet. Only reason I include Rodon already is because I don't forsee him ever being sent back down again. I think he's a lock. Anderson and Fulmer still could, IMO. Anderson won't unless he falls of a cliff which he probably won't. He's more than held his own. Fulmer should be sent down or start up here immediately. He's awful out of the pen. Control and velocity issues. -

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 2, 2016 -> 01:50 PM) I know I've said it a couple times but now that we've seen two drafts from Hostetler and seeing some of Paddy's signings come over, those two can stay for now. Buddy Bell on the other hand needs to get the hell out. I agree. I want to clean house with the coaching staff, pro scouts. This team needs some wholesale changes before we sell. Since the season is over, I'm rooting for success from certain players and losses for the highest possible draft pick. -
Yes this is a PR disaster. Ownership and front office need to take a deep breath and look at themselves in the mirror the rest of the season. Then they need pick a direction and be aggressive. No more half assed off-seasons. It's time to rebuild and load up the farm system from the returns of Sale and Quintana. Then hope we get bounce back seasons from Abreu and Frazier and move them at the deadline. I want an all new coaching staff. Fresh blood and a manager who knows what he's doing and is a leader of men. This clubhouse is a clown show with RV leading the way. It's time to fix this and get the team back to truly competing. Then you'll see the fan base back. I hate to use an NFL analogy but the Sox are like the Chiefs in 2012. Everyone hated the front office and started boycotting games after the fans had the funeral of the team (fans wore all black to a game to represent the death of the team). That got ownership's attention and he became aggressive and fixed things with a great head coach and front office. He also held a meeting with season ticket holders to hear their say. This fan base has had enough of this s***. Attendance isn't going to get better if JR keeps with the status quo. I'm losing my optimism with this franchise. I really hope there's some wholesale changes and they rebuild. If not, I'll just ignore the team until the owner dies and a new owner takes over who wants to really be a contender and win.

This franchise is a cluster f***.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 09:18 PM) I've been sick to my stomach all afternoon over this. I understand the underlying logic in holding onto Sale & Quintana until the offseason, although I question which non-contenders will actually be part of this so-called derby. To me, there are only so many teams that can afford these guys and most of them were in the playoff hunt anyways. Having said that, major leaguers could be in play this fall and so could 2016 draft picks. Perhaps a few more teams will enter the fray, but I don't expect a ton more, even with a poor free agent market. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt on Sale & Quintana for now. What really pisses me off are all the other guys they could have dealt. Yes, we don't know what was offered, but it's quite amazing to me that we only made one trade and it was for a local kid with ties to our GM's high school. Tilson is a legit prospect, but I can't help but think this is another case of our front office trying to get their "guy" who fills a specific need and missing out on a potentially greater return. And I find it incredibly hard to believe no one offered anything of value for Melky or Robertson. Relievers & OFs were going left and right for solid returns. The fact we couldn't make any deals with out guys strongly suggests our demands were unrealistic or we were simply late to the party. Either way, this deadline only increased my fears that Hahn & KW don't know how to sell. The worst part of this all is the complete lack of direction. We still don't know if this team is going to rebuild or retool or most likely do a half-ass job in between. The lack of moves has me greatly concerned there is still no long term plan. Obviously we'll know more this fall/winter, but I would have loved to seen some signs that a rebuilding was coming. Instead, we get to spend the next five months worrying whether or no the front office will do the right thing. I'm getting to the point where following this team has become unenjoyable due to the utter incompetence of our front office and ownership group. Again, I hope they prove me wrong and blow this mess up during the offseason, but with the lack of direction and accountability for years & years I have no reason to be optimistic at the moment. This is how I feel. Now that our seasons done, I'm rooting for a top 10 draft pick. f*** it because we need them.
-
Then why trade Duke? He was our only good lefty and didn't need to be moved? If he's going "all in" he better spend a s*** ton of money. Cespedes or some bat, revamp the bullpen by signing Chapman and stop half assing things. This franchise also needs to stop rushing f***ing prospects. I'm tired of it. You're seeing how unready Fulmer is. Anderson I could understand but they're too aggressive. Adams, Fulmer, etc.
