  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 5, 2016 -> 06:54 AM) Gammons just said Moncada, Benitendi, Devers and Kopech were not available for Sale. LMAO, seriously, go f*** yourself Boston. I hope you flame out Then they'll never get him nor Quintana. f*** em.
  2. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Aug 5, 2016 -> 03:59 AM) Lets point out that Robertson, abreu, Eaton, melky and Frazier were all brought in under hahn. Also anderson, rodon, and fulmer were all drafted under hahn. When was the last time the sox had good drafts that their top pick were in the majors within a year 3 times in a row. Most of kennys picks under him have been busts. Most of the current core pieces are because of hahn. Hahn was given an aging team and crap of a farm system. Current team is younger. Also sales and Quintanas team friendly contracts were signed under hahn. Unfortunately i still dont think hahn has full say as gm and isnt given more money to play with cause of jerry I've mentioned in other posts those names. I'm mainly talking about free agents. His trades have been fine for the most part. I did say the drafting IMO is slowly trending upwards.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 4, 2016 -> 09:48 PM) Drafting? Who? I hope it's not all based on Anderson, Rodon and Fulmer...along with Adams. Because of this year's first three? Hmmm... It's more than that. They got Micah in the 9th round. They're finding guys like Semien, Trayce, Engel. It's start for me at least for a team who couldn't develop hitters worth a s*** for years. Maybe I'm just naive and hoping it's getting better. I don't know. I'm trying to find positives here in an otherwise negative ball club on a daily basis. Baseball takes longer to fix messy situations whereas a sport like football or basketball you can fix them a lot quicker. It took Dayton Moore years to get KC out of their hell. He's just one example off the top of my head. The thing that has me worried is the power structure issues. You got media members like Buster Olney talking about it after the trade deadline. I'd have to look it up what he said exactly. They touched on it on the SSS podcast tonight. I want their to be some clarity in who is in charge in the front office. Is Hahn handcuffed too much?
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 4, 2016 -> 10:12 PM) That article said: "The White Sox shouldn’t need to rebuild right now, instead they need to actually attempt to put good players around their already excellent core." This line said it all. Many of us have alluded to the fact we have elite players in Sale, Q, Robertson, Abreu, Frazier (30 HRs is pretty good), Anderson and Eaton. We just have too many stiffs surrounding them. And no DH is a problem. That's Hahn. His acquisitions have all been ass with the exception of Melky and Robertson.
  5. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 4, 2016 -> 09:55 PM) Nice to see Abreu finaly get a dinger and Avi gets his third of series. Get this team solidified for next year LOL that's not happening
  6. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Aug 4, 2016 -> 09:08 PM) Have you been watching since this century? You've been seeing prospects under the KW/Hahn era and the result is s***. An organization that is bad at drafting, scouting, and development will not be any better with "prospects". I mean now. The sox have been better more recently at drafting. Trading Sale and Q would mean we're trading for successful organizations prospects.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 4, 2016 -> 03:55 PM) That seems like a fan article with no real sourcing, but seemingly just repeating other reports on who Boston would deal. I think WSD said it would have to a Betts package. Then on trade deadline day, I thought Phil Rogers said they were unwilling to include Moncada and Benintendi in a deal. So I could see that article being somewhat correct.
  8. Didn't watch but great to see Q with some run support.
  9. QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Aug 4, 2016 -> 02:18 PM) I love his closing line... Typical Northeast jackassery. If Dombrowski doesn't want to give up Moncada or Betts, he's going to have to give up either Bradley or the #2-5 prospects in the Red Sox system, and probably something else on top of that. If he doesn't like that, he's going to have to settle for a lesser pitcher. Moncada HAS to be in the deal and he will. He and Benintendi. I don't have to have betts. I'd take JBJ. JBJ, Moncada, Kopech, Devers would work if they absolutely had to keep Benintendi if they gave up Moncada. Benintendi could replace Bradley. That's just a random though. I think this will be done because I think the Red Sox will cave in the winter after they watch their rotation fall apart. Now, you could also have more moving parts like a Robertson or Melky moved in the package to entice them more and receive more. Point is, Boston is the perfect match for what the sox want and need to do. It just makes too much sense. I thought they'd cave at the deadline at one point. Them or Texas. But an ace on the market this winter will have a lot of suitors and more teams willing to give up a major league player in return rather than mid season. I'd almost bet on these two matching up this winter.
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 4, 2016 -> 01:33 PM) 2 years ago, the Cubs had some of the lowest ratings in baseball. Baseball viewership ratings change quickly. These contracts teams sign are for a long period of time, and it sort of helps the buyer of the rights to spend some money. The more money they give for the rights, the more money the team can spend on players, the better the team, the better the ratings. So anyone thinking the Sox will sign a 10 or 15 year contract for the lowest rate around, isn't paying attention. The rights buyer obviously wants a deal where they can make some money, but a lowball contract doesn't really do much for them either if it means the team will always suck. The sox get good again, those will rise. Hell I'll watch a rebuild as long as there's young prospects to watch. But not this s***.
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 4, 2016 -> 01:45 PM) Most teams, if not all, have ditched them. I thought they were pretty cool. Maybe Majestic didn't want to make them because they couldn't put their emblem on the sleeve. I liked the older sox ones they wore. Wish they'd go back to those as an alternate home uniform
  12. QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Aug 4, 2016 -> 12:29 PM) Price and Porcello fail to get it done down the stretch and Dombrowski's hand is forced... Sale and Melky to the Red Sox for Betts, Devers, and Groome I just don't think they'll touch their major league roster. Would love it but I don't know. That's why I made the Moncada, Benny, Kopech, Devers and Vaquez deal.
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 4, 2016 -> 12:55 PM) Hopefully Q can adjust to have some runs to play with. My last sox game was in Detroit. Q had a 6-0 lead early and cruised.
  14. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Aug 4, 2016 -> 12:53 PM) That Zimmerman contract could start looking really bad really soon, he's not striking anyone out this year Teams will give guys like him $100 mil contracts but not top prospects for Sale. Lol
  15. Boston falls apart due to starting rotation. Then they cave. Sale to Boston for Moncada, Benintendi, Kopech, Devers and Vasquez. Maybe the White Sox try to add in Robertson, but I'm calling this one.
  16. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Aug 3, 2016 -> 09:59 PM) Simply amazing... Sox are now 8-22 this year vs. Cleveland / Detroit / Kansas City. Sox are 0-11 ON THE ROAD this season against those three teams. Sox have now lost 14 games where they allowed an opponent three runs or less. Sox have scored three runs or less in 51 out of 107 games (48%). Brutal...just brutal. And Sale won't win 20 this year despite having 14 by the middle of July. Mark Yet, Robin Ventura still has his job.
  17. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Aug 3, 2016 -> 09:42 PM) Unfortunately I doubt a new manager could pick his own staff. Another Sox retread and I done until ownership changes and that ownership makes changes. We are the Detroit Lions of MLB. It's to that point for me. They have one more off-season to make some changes or I'll say f*** em til there's some. I think they're the Oakland Raiders from the mid-2000s
  18. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 3, 2016 -> 07:46 PM) Melky has value though. Barring changes in the CBA, Sox need more value than a comp pick next offseason for Cabrera in a trade. Same deal for Frazier. I just hope they both tear it up and then are moved at the deadline. Same for Abreu. Rip up this entire team. When does the waiver process begin?
  19. I'll take Puig f*** it. He has a lot better talent and potential than Avi. I hope the Sox claim him when he's on waivers but I don't think a team will let him get to the Sox. I think a team with a higher priority will claim him like Oakland.
  20. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 3, 2016 -> 09:23 PM) 8-22 vs Indians, Tigers, and Royals, with 27 games left against these teams. 15-40 at Comerica since 2010 Stay hot. I'm hoping the reason they didn't make major moves at the deadline is because JR is seriously considering changes in the front office. Wishful thinking though
  21. There has to be some changes. Jerry can't be this naive can he?
  22. Just awful I really feel for the kid. Recover, take your time and be ready to compete in ST. He should be ready by then?
  23. Shame for Sale to lose like that but keep on losing boys. Need that top 10 pick
  24. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 3, 2016 -> 11:57 AM) Yes. The first one was pretty weak. The second one, he hit the ground when his hammy gave so it looked like an ill advised dive, but it wasn't. So hard to tell. He may have made a nice play if he didn't get hurt. Let's not forget that's he's never played CF in comerica before and it's not a normal CF anyways.
  25. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 3, 2016 -> 08:22 AM) They have a month to get these guys through waivers, it isnt over yet This. I suspect a couple guys could be moved.
