  1. Might as well start playing Nieto a bit more to see what he's got.
  2. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 12, 2014 -> 10:26 AM) How could you even speculate on this? Brett Austin was named an All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association AND Baseball America. He hit .344/.414/.516/.930 this past year with very good BB and K rates. He's a good player. Isn't there questions as to whether or not he'll stick at catcher?
  3. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 12, 2014 -> 03:41 PM) If the Sox are well out of contention in September, and they don't have a major 40-man roster issue at that point, and if Zaleski has pitched well in AAA... I wouldn't be surprised if they add him to the 40 just to give him a September appearance like that. Then after the season they can DFA him to free up the spot again, I don't think he's a claim risk anyway. It would certainly be a nice story.
  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 11, 2014 -> 11:08 PM) And only a game out of last place. AL Central is a major suck fest again All the more reason to keep it rollin'.
  5. 2.5 games back. Let's keep it rollin'.
  6. How about Saladino or Sanchez? (not sure about the latter's English) Wendelken and Montas too, like SoxPride18 said, but again I'm not sure about Montas' English.
  7. And we got our first 'all name' selection. CF Louie Lechich.
  8. QUOTE (Charlie Haeger's Knuckles @ Jun 6, 2014 -> 12:17 PM) She has a deviated septum and likely gets really bad sinus infections. She looks old enough to be his mom.
  9. QUOTE (Andy the Clown @ Jun 6, 2014 -> 12:08 AM) Saladino is organizational depth -- not worth worrying about. Organizational depth? Ha, that's pretty funny. I mean, if anything we're too deep at MI and the premise of this thread is what should we do with said excess depth. Saladino is 24, tearing it up in AAA, and has positional versatility with his recent move to the OF. The fact that he's been playing SS over Carlos Sanchez (who most highly of) has to stand for something. Add that on top of what he's doing with the bat and you can't just write him off as "organizational depth." It's not like he's 28 and at AA. The notion that anyone not in the consensus top 25 is merely organizational depth and should be ignored is annoying.
  10. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 10:31 PM) Holy s***, the HS pick, Cameron Varga had a 0.00 ERA his senior year and struck out 33 straight batters at some point. LOL. Didn't Danish have a 0.00 ERA last year too?
  11. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 08:15 PM) Semien 3-4 with an RBI Sanchez 1-4 with 2B Davidson 0-3 2Ks Ravelo 1-2 Anderson 1-4 2B, RBI Hawkins 1-3 K Barnum 2-3 2B, 2 RBIs Barnum's really turned it around as of late.
  12. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 06:22 PM) Wow. That would be something.
  13. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 11:42 PM) Eaton's mannerisms are super annoying too. Dude, just do your job. You're a light hitting, not that fast filler, just do your job. What?
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 12:59 PM) AND MATTINGLY GET RID OF THOSE SIDEBURNS
  15. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 2, 2014 -> 06:18 PM) Tim Anderson on fire--double. Up to .287. Is there anyway we can combine Anderson and Rondon into one player? Anderson's bat, Rondon's glove.
  16. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Jun 2, 2014 -> 02:31 PM) And trade Hawkins soon please while he still has some value. If we get some crazy, unbelievable offer, then absolutely. Otherwise no. Hell no.
  17. QUOTE (southside hitman @ Jun 2, 2014 -> 02:54 PM) Keenyn Walker ‏@Keenyn_Walker This is by far the worst feeling I think I've ever had! Feels like I'm the only one that has my back! Is he high? He's .155/.231/.236 this year, the Sox have his back by doing him a favor and demoting him. Which is what they should of done with Hawkins last year, IMO. Hmm... After reading an article about Taj Gibson's 6-year old cousin being murdered and then coming across this next, it's really hard to feel sorry for the guy. Being demoted is the worst thing that's ever happened to him? He must have a pretty awesome life then. Tons of people would love to be a minor league player in an MLB organization, and here he is acting like his life is ending. What has he done throughout his career to justify this entitlement? He's been a bust basically since he's been drafted. When you're hitting .150 in AA after barely hitting .200 the previous year, then obviously something needs to be done. He and Jared Mitchell should be thankful they haven't been released already. And I'll tell you what, if he takes this attitude with him on the field in WS then he probably won't be successful there either. Dude needs to quit whining and get some perspective.
  18. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 30, 2014 -> 06:58 PM) I won't buy them until probably a couple days before.. If its confirmed he will start I might try to sit in the K Zone just to see what its like. I am also going to the Sunday game against the Royals. Hopefully you'll get better tickets than me. I'm sitting in section 520. They're free Kid's Club tickets so I can't complain, but I was thinking about upgrading to the K-Zone as well. If I can scrape enough cash together, that is.
  19. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 30, 2014 -> 03:39 PM) Me too man! Coming from St. Louis for that week. Never got to seen Sale pitch yet. Thank god! Awesome. Where are your seats?
  20. QUOTE (flavum @ May 30, 2014 -> 12:48 PM) Yes Sale's schedule before the Break: 6-1 vs Padres 6-7 at Angels 6-12 vs Tigers 6-18 vs Giants 6-23 at Orioles 6-28 at Blue Jays 7-4 vs Mariners 7-9 at Red Sox 7-15 All Star Game Yes!
