  1. I haven’t liked this guy since we got him in the Sale trade but for some reason I’ve really been pulling for him this year, one reason probably because I really respect his defense at third base.
  2. Bottom line is if we win today we will still lose the season series 4-3 to the A’s.
  3. As long a Katz is pitching coach don’t count on Kopech getting straightened out, maybe not Cease either. The manager and all the coaches have to go.
  4. He looks like he’s running in quicksand, I think Paulie might have been faster. Thank heaven the Sox are winning but this is one ugly game.
  5. I wonder how he feels now as when he signed with the Sox he stated “this is where I want to be”.
  6. He had a slight hesitation to make sure the shortstop didn’t snag the grounder otherwise he would have beat the throw.
  7. Who’d want one of those?
  8. Not bad to watch 2 horrible teams.
  9. We broke down about 5 years ago in Central Florida on a rural road in the middle of nowhere when my engine froze up. We had to wait almost 3 hours in 95 degree heat before AAA arrived. I couldn’t believe how many people in their cars stopped to see if they could help us in anyway, I thought for sure someone would come along and rob us, it brought back my faith in humanity.
  10. I remember many times back in the day taking the Madison Ave bus out to Chicago Stadium to see Blackhawk games and remember many cold snowy nights. When I was 14 in 1960 a good buddy and I went downtown to see Mayor Richard J. Daley’s torch light parade for JFK the Friday night before the election, some pol gave us Vote For JFK signs and we marched out to the Stadium down Madison Ave and were able to see JFK make a speech, we sat in an aisle way up in the second balcony. After the speech we walked back downtown and the parade was still going on, that was Mayor Daley for you. BTW 14 year old kids could do stuff like that back then with blessings from our parents.
  11. I moved to Florida 30 years ago but I thought I read somewhere that the area around the United Center and the near West Side is the next hot spot in the city. Personally, I don’t think it’s that great as it’s a long walk from the Loop.
  12. I agree that there is nothing wrong with the ballpark, even though the upper deck is steep I’ve seen some of the new parks with upper decks just as steep. The thing is that the Sox at 35th and Shields have never been a huge draw, they are one of the few franchises in MLB and the only big market team that has failed to draw 3 million fans in a season, true Sox fans will travel there to see a game but the casual fans and the out of towers will not. It’s location, location, location.
  13. If they stay in the city, this is the place. It’s exact location is just south of Roosevelt Road, east of the River and west of Clark street,
  14. I’m leaning towards that theory that the bullet was a stray fired from outside the park.
  15. We just returned from a cruise and we never saw so many extremely overweight people.
  16. In all of baseball. If they started the season with the current roster they couldn’t beat the worst team in my lifetime, the 1962 expansion Mets who went 40-120.
