In the next 3 seasons in Detroit Rocky hit 35, 45 and 37 homers. Larry Doby came close in the mid 50s having the middle season with 29 homers.

I agree, Sosa needs to be at first base, come Spring Training the manager and coaches need to work full time with Sosa and by the time the regular season starts he will hopefully be at the least a serviceable first baseman. I like an infield of Vargas at 3B, Monty at SS, Meidroth at 2B and Sosa at 1B with Mead the utility guy.
