  1. I think we were all hoping for a miracle with Robert, hard to argue with your points.
  2. Benintendi should be our DH so the question is if today was opening day what and who are the outfielders, this is very depressing.
  3. I’m not sure how I feel about this trade, I’m hoping they use Robert’s salary and sign a more than decent free agent, right now our outfield is loaded with AAA guys. Probably a stretch with his defensive problems but It would be nice if Sosa could become our everyday left fielder.
  4. An all time Sox favorite of mine, great knuckleball pitcher and a true workhorse throwing over 320 innings for 4 consecutive years and coming close in a 5th with 291 innings.
  5. The best goalie in my lifetime, Glenn Hall has passed away at age 94. His record of 502 consecutive games between the pipes will never be broken. Thanks for some great memories.
  6. I was stationed in South Dakota with the USAF in 1966 but a couple of buddies and me took a drive to the Twin Cities that summer for a Sox-Twins game, Twins won as they were coming off a trip to the World Series in 1965 while the Sox were a little better than a .500 team in 1966 finishing 83-79 after 3 great years winning 94, 98 and 95 games, Sox were probably trying to get used to new manager Eddie Stanky after the great run by Al Lopez. IIRC the BoSox lost over 100 games in 1966 but beat out our Sox in 1967 in the great 4 team pennant race of 1967. All 4 teams had a chance to win the pennant on the last weekend, most of us Sox fans remember how bad it turned out for us.
  7. You forgot the Syracuse Nationals who moved to Philadelphia and became the 76ers, this was after the Warriors left Philly and moved to San Francisco.
  8. The Braves of the NBA moved to San Diego first and then Los Angeles.
  9. If the Bears do wind up in NW Indiana then the Cardinals should move back to Chicago and either play in Soldier Field or Arlington Heights, the Cardinals were Chicago’s first pro football team.
  10. Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas, maybe Santa will bring us a merry winning season in 2026.
  11. I agree that Baldwin looks much better in CF than the OF corners and I think he’s going to improve with the bat but if the Sox keep Robert then Brooks is the odd man out or he can be a DH. Actually with the signing of Murakami my guess is Sosa might be the main DH. Since we need a rightfielder, maybe they trade Sosa.
  12. I’ve been a Sox fan over 7 decades and I think that Robert is the best centerfielder we’ve had in that time and we’ve had guys like Busby, Landis, Berry and Lemon. What drives me crazy with him of course is he can’t stay healthy and he continues to have lousy at bats, I haven’t seen him try to adjust, I’m sure the coaches have worked with him but for some reason it’s not working. It’s really a tough decision to make with what to do with him, the guy has so much talent, I keep hoping that he finally figures things out. At this point, I would keep him and if he doesn’t improve with the bat, they can trade him at mid-season and get whatever they can for him. Of course some team might come up with a deal that we can’t refuse but I’m not holding my breath on that happening.
  13. Of course they will but with Fairbanks won’t bother me if they take a pass on him.
  14. We’re not only losing, we’re losing at historic levels for the franchise, all because of a detestable owner.
  15. Agree, as far as entertainment there are still many vibrant places in Chicago in place, there is no need to travel to 35th and Shields for entertainment. If there was as many people living around the ballpark as Wrigley then it would be feasible but there’s not. Wrigley and the surrounding neighborhoods are unique, unfortunately the White Sox surrounding neighborhoods aren’t.
  16. As the Rays are my second favorite team, I’m not a big fan of Fairbanks, hope he winds up with the Cubs.
  17. …..and will continue to lose 100 games a year. This jerk is turning the franchise into the laughing stock of MLB if not there already.
  18. When will we ever see an earth shattering free agent signing by the White Sox, so tired of picking up has been and never were guys.
