I think we need to get a tie with England and then England beats Wales.

We needed a win against Wales, it's going to be hard now to advance out of the group, need at least a tie against England to have a chance.

Favorite Sox jersey
I bet he does too, he'd be a gazillionaire.

Moncada and Robert could be on Cuban WBC team
That’s cool but for whatever reasons he’s just not as good as he was touted to be.

Kopech has knee surgery - expected to be ready for ST
OK thanks.

Kopech has knee surgery - expected to be ready for ST
Why wait so long after the season ended, I've had 2 knee surgeries and sometimes things take longer than expected, season ended 6 weeks ago, that is 6 weeks more to get the knee in shape.

Favorite Sox jersey
These were the best followed by the current units which we’ve had since 1991. The 1971s were good but thought they were better for the Red Sox. I hated the 1976-1981 and the 81-86, horrible unis. One of my big wishes is MLB players all wore their uniforms alike, after all they are called uniforms, they should all have the same colored shoes and I wish they went back to the stirrups, straight long pants look sloppy.

The State of the Sox...
Grifol has his work cut out for him, let's hope he can turn this mess around.

Sox may have trade interest in Rays 2B/OF Brandon Lowe
He regressed because he was injured with a bad back most of the year. I just read that the Rays are thinking of moving Lowe to first base which makes a ton of sense with Choi traded to the Pirates and the Rays have a quite a few options at 2B. That said and done, would I like the Brandon Lowe on the White Sox, you're darn tootin I would.

The State of the Sox...
We were also one of the first homes on our block to have a UHF TV, I want to say it was 1965 right before I enlisted in the USAF. My Dad wasn't a baseball fan and no one knew the Sox would be on UHF in 1968, we just needed a new TV and my Dad was always up on the latest in electronics so our new 19 inch TV had UHF.

The State of the Sox...
I was going to mention those 3 years which was painful for me as I became a fan in 1952 and never experienced a losing season by a White Sox team. The funny thing about it is that I was in Vietnam all of 1968 but still followed the Sox in the daily Stars and Stripes Newspaper. I remember one day when the Sox made the front page as they had a photo and caption of Hoyt Wilhelm breaking the record for most appearances by a pitcher.

The State of the Sox...
That move to UHF32 in 1968 was another move that led to Chicago eventually becoming a Cubs town. Very few homes and families had TVs that had UHF and here go the White Sox leaving WGN for a UHF station that no one could watch. Can't blame JR for that one but if he was the owner at the time, he probably would have made the same move. I've read that Jack Brickhouse just about begged the Sox to stay with WGN but to no avail.

Excellent analogy.

The State of the Sox...
The timing was bad and it wasn't with cable, it was goofy looking over the air antenna that alien travelers might have brought from Mars and the picture wasn't exactly crystal clear.

The State of the Sox...
Harry dumped JR and company, he wanted no part of Sportsvision, he knew that Sportsvision was not going go over big in Chicago as the Cubs were on free TV for 162 games. In the one year he did work for JR and EE he came to realize that those 2 guys were jerks and got out and the rest his history as Harry became a household name across the country on Superstation WGN.

The State of the Sox...
All I know is 2 years were wasted with the hiring of TLR, this might have JR's biggest blunder in his 41 years of his torturous ownership with so many blunders, it's a miracle that there are still White Sox fans around on the planet.

If Abreu leaves, we will probably be worse than 15th.

AJ Pollock declines option, becomes FA
Agree, Engel regressed last year, he's expendable.

AJ Pollock declines option, becomes FA
As the Rays are my second favorite team while watching just about every game I have always thought Kiermaier was the best center fielder in MLB but the guy just cant stay healthy and it's a damn shame. He would make a great 4th outfielder and I would sign him in a heartbeat if there was a guarantee that he could stayed healthy but of course there are no guarantees, so.......

AJ Pollock declines option, becomes FA
He was a bust but I don't blame him if he despises the organization like most of us do. I don't despise the White Sox franchise, I despise the Reinsdorf organization and can't wait until he sells the Sox, I'm not getting any younger.

Pedro Grifol named White Sox manager; Katz asked to return per Rosey
Without a doubt, I would have taken Renteria back before hiring Ozzie.

Hahn gets a little bit of a pass because he works for the worst owner in MLB. Would a new GM improve things, yes but only under a new owner.

The State of the Sox...
It took them to after the season for them to figure it out, we could see it all season long.

The State of the Sox...
With the Cuban guys hanging around Abreu's locker it surprises me and I'm a little disappointed that Jose didn't show more leadership with those guys.
