  1. These guys have had me scratching my head since the All Star break, I won't be surprised if we get knocked out of the playoffs in the first round.
  2. I agree but the record speaks for itself, they're not playing great, a few games over .500 since the All Star break. There's something missing, seems like they're not overly motivated, maybe because they've never really been pressed by Cleveland or had a crucial series in the second half or it could be the manager is having trouble motivating these guys.
  3. One of them was the 50th anniversary of the 1st All Star game at Comiskey
  4. That's all we need, a Covid outbreak on the team.
  5. I tend to agree, the season is way too long. I'd like the season to start in mid April and end in mid September giving us another round of playoffs. Right now we have too mamy teams playing for absolutely nothing in late September.
  6. We had the Moderna with the second jab on April 1st, so far no ill effects. As soon as the booster is available, we will take that too. Going on 76 and didn't want to take any chances as in the early days of Covid mostly old people were dying. We lost a very good friend to Covid in June of 2020 and that hit us very hard.
  7. In answer to the original question; No, baseball doesn't work that way. I'm just hoping that when the playoffs start that the Sox have everyone back healthy and ready to go.
  8. Eventually we will see 32 teams with each league having 4 divisions with 4 teams in each division. Could have anywhere from 8 to 16 teams making the playoffs. We could also see each league with 2 divisions of 8 teams each.
  9. Agree, about a .500 team since the break but very well rested.
  10. So many more possibilities with him in the outfield.
  11. .650 winning pct. when he's in the starting lineup.
  12. As fast as he lost his stuff, he could get it back just as fast. He's a veteran and at this point I'd have him on the playoff roster but not as a starter, he's got a month to get his **** together where we can use him as a starter. The thing is, a team doesn't need 5 starters in the postseason so unless someone gets hurt he will most likely be in the bullpen.
  13. Because he only played 3 years with the Sox, he never makes my all time White Sox team dispite having that great 1972 MVP year.
  14. I've been a Sox fan since 1952 and Dick Allen had raw talent, he was a natural and was a 5 tool player, these guys don't grow on trees, a few others come to mind, Mays, Mantle, Clemente and Trout. When I look at Robert I see another 5 tool player with the raw talent and potential to become one of the greatest players in Sox history, lets hope he can stay healthy.
  15. How about me, last Saturday in St. Pete we drove 90 miles from Punta Gorda to see the Sox with 3 of our regulars sitting it out.
