Is this rock bottom
As we speak the Sox are playing to a .346 winning percentage which would give us a 56-106 year end record which would tie the 1970 team for the worst record in Sox history, with our horrible pitching I say we won't reach the 56 wins and probably end up at 50-112. We still have games with the Yankees, Red Sox and Cubs who will show no mercy on us.

Adam Eaton with a subtle shot at the White Sox?
Sorry but I'm sort of new and haven't posted much here, curious was your feeling that of most? As for me I'm not sure.

Adam Eaton with a subtle shot at the White Sox?
Here is something that I have thought about, let's say the LaRoche business and the Sale Sissorhands event never happened and the both Sale and Eaton were good Boy Scouts, do the Sox trade them anyway and go with the rebuild?

Moncada
The first thing I did when we traded for Moncada was to look at his Minor league stats and said to myself; what's so great about this guy that we traded away the best pitcher in the AL for him. A friend of mine who is a Red Sox fan told me what bothered him was giving up Basabe in the trade to us but not Moncada.

Sox and Jays Gamethread
No, whatever happens the worst trade ever was the Cubs trading Lou Brock for Ernie Broglio followed by the A's trading Nellie Fox for Joe Tipton.

Sox and Jays Gamethread
He seems to have a really great game once in awhile and we all think he has turned the corner, not sure if he's going to live up to all the hype bestowed on him. One thing is, I'm not wild abut him batting leadoff, bat him 6 or 7. Too early to give up on him, if he's having a hard time a year from now I would say there would be some cause for concern.

That's depressing.

2018 Attendance Thread
When we moved to Florida in 1993, the Sox were doing well in attendance and it was close to how many In the Metro were Sox fans or Cub fans, it was around 50/50 back then, any guesses to the ratio these days, is it 60/40 in favor of the Cubs or even 66/33? Based on attendance figures lately it's more like 66/33.

9 year anniversary of MB's perfect game: where were you?
I almost hit the ceiling in the front room when the Sox won the AL Pennant on Sept. 22, 1959.

9 year anniversary of MB's perfect game: where were you?
Played Golf in the AM, came home, had lunch and then watched the game on WGN when they were still televising nationwide.

FS: Have the Sox ever had a prospect like Eloy in AAA?
I also thought those trades were bad but somehow the Sox won more games than any other team in the years of 63, 64 and 65. They won 94 in 63, 98 in 1964 and 95 in 1965 and had nothing to show for it.

FS: Have the Sox ever had a prospect like Eloy in AAA?
Going back to the late 50s the Sox thought they had the next Mickey Mantle in Johnny Callison. He played a little bit in 1959 season but Veeck traded him in the off season with a few more very good prospects who all had very nice ML careers.

ASB 2018...how many from current roster make it to 2021?
I think we should keep Sanchez in addition to the obvious players. Yolmer will make a fine utility infielder and is a good guy to have around.

KW on the state of the rebuild
Excellent post and may I add that I trust KW and Hahn about as far as I can throw them in seeing a successful rebuild to where the Sox are yearly contenders for many years. The franchise needed entirely new blood in the Front Office much like the Cubs did when they brought in Theo. I'm 72 and probably don't have many rebuilds left on the horizon so I hoping the current one works but I'm not holding my breath

Irrational fondness of a player who completely sucks
John Cangelosi, I thought he would be our best lead off man since Luis Aparicio.

Rays Up!
Living in Florida I watch just about every Rays game. This past off-season the FO surprised everybody down here by trading or not re-signing a bunch of players who were damn good last year, Longoria, Dickerson, Morrison, Souza, Cobb and a few others. I thought that the FO was throwing in the towel on a new stadium and would piss off the fan base and attendance would be so bad that 5,000 would be an nice crowd and would pave the way for a move to another city. Well lo and behold the new guys are playing some really good ball with guys like Duffy, Ramos, Bauers and Snell leading the way. Swept the Yankees last week and just took 2 of 3 from the Astros. They are fun to watch and play sound fundamental ball, not like another team I happen to follow. They actually remind of the team of my youth, the GO-GO SOX OF THE 50s and 60s.

Sox have team meeting after game
The franchise has become a laughingstock.

White Sox acquire Steve Johnson
The Orioles pitching is worse than ours, if he can't help them, how is he going to help us.

Avi Garcia to the DL
What's the point of going down to Charlotte to rehab, let him rehab with the big club, it's not like he's going hurt the team, it can't get much worse.

8-6 Gamethread: White @ Red
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 6, 2017 -> 01:03 PM) RR is the best....at losing He's managing a AAA team, maybe worse. When we lose today the Sox will be 4-23 since the All-Star break. I've been a fan since 1952, this is the low point, we are down there with whale ****.

Sox vs Sawks
QUOTE (harkness @ Aug 5, 2017 -> 07:23 PM) I'm not sure ive seen a team lose this much.... like 2 wins since the all star break? I can't remember anything like this. You can't expect much more, right now this is a AAA team but I guess that's how a rebuild works.
