  1. Melky continues to hit the ball, our best everyday player this year.
  2. Where did Chris Sale go? Not the same guy we saw early in the year. This could be a disaster of a road trip.
  3. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Aug 7, 2016 -> 02:46 PM) Well, right now he's talking about painting Steve Stone's face. I've had enough of the Benetti Comedy Hours.
  4. Now we have Sox Math, who's idea was this, it's time for it to go away.
  5. QUOTE (Insp @ Aug 7, 2016 -> 02:11 PM) What's the difference between putting Albers in and just simply forfeiting? Maybe they will invoke the slaughter rule.
  6. QUOTE (Insp @ Aug 7, 2016 -> 01:58 PM) Over at the Orioles Hangout, 177 fans are viewing their game thread with over 150 posts already. Meanwhile there are only 8 members and 23 guests on the SoxTalk game thread that has only 13 posts. I just came over from WSI, I was the only one over there posting in the game thread. The Sox fan base is shrinking, this embarrassing outing by Shields isn't going to help things.
  7. I'm really down on Abreu, he's out of shape, can't field and is slower than Konerko. All that plus if he's 28, I'm a monkey's uncle. I'd like to see Frazier at first base, Lawrie at 3rd and Saladino at second. Abreu can DH along with Morneau.
  8. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 10, 2016 -> 02:50 PM) Safe. Bad play by Abreu Amen to that, Abreu is just not himself this season. No power, slower than Konerko and scares me around first base.
  9. QUOTE (StrykerSox @ Jul 10, 2016 -> 02:16 PM) Another special guest? This one in middle school? Man, I hear about Donald Trump like 300 times in a day. This is supposed to be a sanctuary, damnit! Also, I think that was AJ's 400th double. Which not many catchers have done, but rather than telling the world that, Steve Stone would rather press a twelve year old into doing a Jason Benetti impersonation. Exactly, I'd like to see some sense of urgency out of Benetti, he seems like he wants to be a comedian instead of a PXP guy. Maybe he doesn't care if the Sox win or lose but we sure do.
  10. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jul 10, 2016 -> 08:02 AM) The Cubs only need to go 65-10 the rest of the way to break the all time wins record. After all, they are the greatest team ever. Now on pace for 97 wins. Same as last years squad They will win just over 90 and might make a WC spot. I think the Pirates and Cards will both catch the Flubs which leaves one WC Spot which they will have to fight the Mets and Dodger for.
  11. QUOTE (Insp @ Jul 2, 2016 -> 05:00 PM) Given how he can't lay off swinging at pitches outside the strike zone, perhaps J.B. should have his last name legally changed to Schmuck. That's an epidemic on this team. They swing at anything and pitchers don't have to throw strikes to get them out.
  12. WTF.....is Navarro blind, then he gets back to the dugout and is laughing about it. I'm am oldster and if Al Lopez was managing and it was in the 1950s Navarro would be sitting on the bench for 2 weeks besides being fined. Just terrible baseball.
  13. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 26, 2016 -> 01:56 PM) Hugging the opponent should be a fine. At one time before the game you were not allowed to talk to the opposition, it was called fraternization and was subject to a fine from the league.
  14. Double Depression.
  15. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:55 PM) Are there people here who still think we have a chance this season? Hell no.
  16. I don't think this team can beat the Twins right now. The way we have been playing for the last month, we will be lucky to win 70 games.
  17. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 02:03 PM) The Cubs relied on that for decades. No, they relied on Wrigley Field.
  18. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 12, 2016 -> 03:24 PM) Can we stop with the stupid relocating theories? It's utter f***ing nonsense. Baseball is looking to expand and has at least two franchises with legit cases to relocate. The Sox aren't going anywhere until their sweetheart lease deal ends in the very distant future and when it does they'll likely move to the suburbs or lakefront. They aren't leaving the Chicago metropolitan area. If the Sox stay in Chicago it will be at 35th and Sields because no one is going to give them a billion bucks to build a new stadium especially when Chicago and Illinois are just about bankrupt.
  19. QUOTE (SCCWS @ May 25, 2016 -> 05:23 PM) Ozzie is over the hill. But Adam LaRoche is available. We need a real leader, hire Drake.
  20. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ May 25, 2016 -> 04:20 PM) This team doesn't care because it takes after the personality of its manager. We need leadership for these 25 players who gives a damn about winning and losing. Every team goes through a few dry spells each season, but ours last longer than most as we don't have a manager who will throw gas on a spark and light a big ass fire. Ozzie is the answer and its time to stop pretending that Robin can get the job done. I loved Robin as a player, but he's truly one of the worst managers to ever wear a uniform. The fact that this team has the record it does shows that we could run away with the division if we had just average leadership. Come on JR, don't you want another world series title on the south side? Than do what is necessary to make it happen. Anybody but Ozzie, he's a disgusting clown. You saw how long he lasted in Miami.
  21. I'm not sure, I say put Saladino out there everyday until Anderson is ready. Release Rollins, why the hell did we sign an over the hill SS to begin with. And while we're at it, it's time to say goodbye to Ventura.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ May 25, 2016 -> 02:57 PM) Just getting absolutely no production from the catchers over the last few weeks. Both of these guys are back ups on most of the ML teams. I think Avila is done.
  23. QUOTE (InTheDriversSeat @ May 24, 2016 -> 01:52 PM) Once I saw Ronnie Woo Woo at USCF, wearing his complete Cubs uniform, walking around the lower level / infield seating section. The Sox were not playing the Cubs on that night. I thought that was VERY strange! . That's because Ronnie Woo Woo is very strange.
  24. QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ May 24, 2016 -> 10:54 AM) I know this has been talked about, but why no interest in James Loney? He's hitting 333 for the Padre's AAA team and can opt out of his deal if he finds a ML opportunity. Given Jose's struggles and Sands just being meh, could it make sense? Living in Florida and watching the Rays almost every game, I have always been a Loney fan, great glove at first and would be a nice backup for Abreu and is a damn good contact hitter, would be a good fill in at DH also. I don't need to see Sands anymore.
